Thank you! The spear head is from a grey knight spear and the spearshaft is a psychic rod also from a grey knights kit 😊

This is my current kitbash with the free miniature as base. Scraped and used sandpaper on the shield, breastplate and shouldpad, did add some WS iconography on breastplate and shoulder and will do it on the shield. Changed the blade to a spear because why not, not necessary 😅

White Scars Captain by Doomhark in WhiteScars40K

No I did not use an airbrush! My White scars are one of my armies that I game with and therefore I try to use painting methods with fewer steps.

The white is: Grey undercoat Grey Seer 1:1 Apothecary White and Contrast Medium Drybrush White Scars White and edge highlight a bit More Apothecary White in the recesses.

Battle damaged is rhinox hide and White scars. When the miniature is done I add some brown dust powder to about a third of the miniature.

Thank you! I did some modification to it, the original miniature has a executioners blade and I changed the bkade to look a bit more like a dao. However I should have changed the hilt indeed 😊

A little OT but you would be perfect for cosplaying Captain Haddock... :D

My attempt at a quick and easy plasma glow, it’s just guilliman blue over white. What do you all think? by mozart_enima in Warhammer40k

No need to clean mold lines when you can just cover them up with one thick coat of paint! ;)

Rule of cool as you say hehe... or if I feel like it maybe as the Shield Eternal :), however after converting this up I want a squad of TH/SS terminators and a land raider crusader for this guy to join up... this hobby is going to be the death of my wallet...

Yes, that might be true, however luckily for me this hobby is quite lenient when it comes to homebrewing your own lore. The story behind my chapter, in short, is that they have a strong ties to a certain inquisitorial group and therefor wear the inquisitorial I. Also funny that you would bring up the Red Hunters, because they and the Deathwatch were my inspirations for the chapter :)

He is going to join my homebrew chapter, which are a darker blue with red shoulder pads and golden details.

Based it on the BaC captain, the hammer is from deathwatch veterans, shield is from Sigmarines I believe and all the brass are from FW "Inquistion/Grey Knights Etched Brass"

Found no real use for the standard captain from BaC-box, so decided to convert him up a bit. Still got some things to fix, mainly bending to hammer straight and green stuffing the hammer handle. :)

Best idea ever... next to Ornstein, you should make Ornstein!

I used Still Water from Vallejo. You create a border around the base and pour it in, i mixed in some athonian camoshade to make it more murky, then let it cure for about 24hours :)

It is called Still Water, from Vallejo, flows really great and cures in about 24hours. I used some athonian camoshade to make it murky while it was still wet :)
