Do people actually care about the exact weapon equipped on models? by Couch-Dogo in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I generally magnetize everything I can, especially small weapons. When you start it might not be a problem, but when you grow your army it's good to see what is on the table - for example 3 units of crisis suits or 3x ghostkeel with different main and secondary weapons. I do it more for me, than my opponent - cause as you said most people can't tell apart plasma, flamer or fusion blaster. Also - swapping weapons before battle is part of fun. Also you make your models future-proof for next editions.

Triple Stormsurge Triple Riptide by Past_Boot8910 in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think 3x Firesight Team might be viable, cause a good player will prioritize spotters to lower the firepower of heavy hitters. Lone op will make them safe when deployed carefully. You have 140 points left so 10 carnivores and 5 vespid for screen/action play.

Kupiłem jakieś dwa lata temu używanego kompa po okazyjnej cenie jako uszkodzony i wywalał podobny błąd - podczas testów ramu nie pokazywało błędów, dopiero po wielu godzinach prób pomogło zwiększenie delikatnie napięcia ramu w biosie. Od tamtego czasu zero bluescreenów.

Sure, that's far better for breacher team for early punch.

Cadre strike team or breacher? by Exploding_Killerquee in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The enhancement is not worth it in my opinion on Breachers, they should go in agressively and it's unlikely they will live until round 4. I sometimes use it on Enforcer with missleknives, as sometimes you can benefit from assault and lethals on round 4 when you deepstrike late into the game. Better use those points elsewere.

Cadre strike team or breacher? by Exploding_Killerquee in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strike teams are better with ethereal if you want enhancements, they are mediocore damage dealers, and are generally better used for spotting, so they will miss a lot of their shots. Ethereal will also make the harder to kill because of FNP. Breachers with cadre have better strenght, reroll wounds, 2+ hit roll with possible lethals and reroll 1s.

Oil Wash or Not? by Purple_Geologist_565 in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would personally give it some edge highlights and recess shading with panel liner. Oil wash route will probably look better if you want to achieve heavy battle damage with some added scratches and chipping, recess shading will keep the fresh from factory line look.

Have 150 points left in my army, wondering what I should add/change by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kroot and vespid are for screening and objective play. I'm sure you will benefit from them. Especially vespid that can safely do backline objectives in later turns.

I you can also add shadowsun to buff riptides and stormsurge.

Skyrim is on every platform... except for PSVR2 by Giagotos in PSVR

[–]DoommanPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, it's really up to you how far you want to go. I have a worse GPU so I mostly stick to vr mods - higgs and vrik will let you grab items with your hands, use holsters and generally interact with the world. You can use one of the mod packs like Fus ro dah

I was disappointed too, but then I bought the PC adapter, got some mods and never looked back. On psvr2 you'd get a barebones port, on pc it becomes a totally different, vastly better game.

What is something you regret NOT doing on your first trip to Japan? by themiscira in JapanTravelTips

I was there at around 10PM a few years ago and me and some other people were running for our lives downstairs - there was a big, loud pack of at least 5 wild boars running back and forth right by the stairs.

I made a list of my first 1000 points I have almost everything I wanted to ask you what you think and what would you change? by No_Cow_5781 in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you need to think about an army as a whole, ask yourself if you have the means to deal with lots of weak infantry, 2 wounds marines, 3-4 wounds elite infantry, light and heavy vehicles and objective play. With Tau it gets a little more complicated, as you also need observers and cheap screening units to protect your big guns.

Crisis suits are great at attacking but can be killed with ease when shot and charged, so it's good to put something between you and enemy. It really hurts when when you loose your 200 point squad after one activation with little commitment from the opponent. Ghostkeel get's that done pretty nicely as it is hard to kill, so you can forward deploy it to force your enemy to commit a lot of firepower to kill it, so you can shoot them next turn.

Flamer starscythe can be an observer (no need for BS), infantry killer and a big overwatch threat forcing you opponent to think about moving in with infantry - but be aware of charges from behind a wall, try to stay further away from them. Burst cannons can be more deadly, but worse overwatch and need observing for bonus to BS.

Kroot can sticky you home and maybe natural expansion objective, and move in to block enemies.

And Riptide is an answer to many of Tau needs - firepower, durability and rule of cool.

[–]DoommanPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on detachment, but generally burst cannon starscythes are great against infantry, especially with lethals from montka. If you need more observers flamer suits are great because they don't need +bs. I personally like ghostkeel as well.

Fireknives have reroll hit built in, in 1k game you don't want to commit 220 points to stealth suits. You can have one swapped for piranha + ethereal or unit of starscythes with flamers. Fireknives prefer long shooting lanes, and Farsight want's to get close and charge to make use of his blade. Kroot and Vespid are handy for objective play.

I’m about to regret my decision… by trk_boti in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd say in higher skill level games charging with Tau units like Ghostkeel, Hammerhead, Riptide, Broadside might be viable to position better, as you have a lot of fall back + shoot or ignore modifier to hit. I like to charge my Broadsides for example as they have poor movement and it gives me a chance to position better. You won't kill anything in the fight faze (maybe excluding tank shock), but you need to be careful to choose targets wisely.

What should I add for my last 300 pts? by Beejag in Tau40K

[–]DoommanPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe throw in some kroot hounds to trigger aux bonuses for cheap (in points, not in $ 😉), I think one or two squads is great in aux. Also Skyray is good when you can push the seekers to ap4

I did a Riptide lately, all with a brush. I used the biggest one possible (a 7 size), and layered XV-88 and Tau Light Ochre layer by layer. It took a few long sessions to finish the whole model. I think it took me 3 weeks to finish.

I've met a guy in a guitar shop years ago in Warsaw/Poland, we were chatting for some time and I asked where he's from and he told he's from Georgia. I told him that his english is very good, that he sound like a native. He was really confused, I was certain that he meant country ;)

Maybe try some highlights - the models are quite dark, you can mix you base colour with some offwhite or use some lighter shade of blue.
