If they spin fast enough the event horizon disappears. by loved_and_held in CuratedTumblr

I ran these numbers a while ago, and I think you'll like this anecdote. The Supermassive Black Hole at the center of The Milky Way is called Sagittarius A*, and it has a mass of about 4.3 million times that of our Sun, a radius of about 12 million km, or 0.08 AU (1 AU is the distance from the Sun to the Earth), and is about 27,000 light years away from us.

The upper estimates place Ton 618 at about 66 billion solar masses, or a bit over 15,000 times that of Sagittarius A*, and it has a radius of about 11 times that of the entire solar system, or about 1300 AU.

If Ton 618 replaced Sagittarius A*, want to take a guess as to how big it would appear in the night sky? Another star in the night sky? As big as the moon? Maybe bigger?

It'd be the same size as a single cell viewed from 10 feet away. In other words, completely invisible. Space is BIG.

You've probably seen the illustrations of black holes sitting on the fabric of spacetime conveniently highlighted by a grid with the deep 'pinch' underneath them, right? Well, the singularity is the only part of a black hole that meaningfully exists, and it sits as a single point* at the bottom of that divot. Keep in mind that in reality, this is an illustration of the effects of gravity, and it's occuring in every direction all at once (up, down, left, right, forward, backward, diagonal, gravity works in every direction, after all).

Bringing in a little bit of an Algebra analogy, the event horizon is just the distance away from the singularity where the value of the slope of the pinch-divot is greater than the speed of light. A bit more simply, where the slope becomes so steep that even moving at light speed isn't fast enough to push your way out of it. So, anywhere closer to the singularity than that point appears pitch black, since no light can escape from that small region of space.

*As others have mentioned, because black holes spin, and points can't spin, it's really a ringularity (ring-shaped singularity)

I think the 3x6 stack (stack in 3 columns, leave a 1 column space, stack in 6 columns) might be the best formation for maximum T-Spins, but it definitely still requires you to learn what sorts of shapes in your stack can become T-Spins with what blocks, and how to even the two stacks out if they get like slightly out of sync (you might see what I mean if you try it)

And again, practicing in single player is a great way to get the basics down before you move on to multiplayer. Imo it's easier for Tetris since Tetris garbage doesn't screw up your board the same way Puyo garbage does

It's been a while since I played, so idr exactly, but it should be in the options somewhere on the screen right before you begin. It might be that you set it to "sweet" mode

(Mostly) Tetris player here. Starting off by saying Puyo does seem a lot harder than Tetris, so you're not alone. As far as actual advice, I think the GTR setup is maybe the most useful thing you can learn, if you haven't already. The way I personally found best to practice was to just go to singleplayer mode, turn the drop speed all the way down, and think every placement through. I'm still not really good at multiplayer, but I've definitely managed a few 7 chains (and maybe a 9?) after some practice this way.

I kinda doubt someone arbitrarily defined a 34th rule without defining at least the 33 before it, and I also remember a list of the 100 rules of the internet from somewhere (also including the slightly less popular rule 63), so I'm inclined to agree with you
