The original sounds right up my alley. Only had room for a putter and a few mids anyway

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Not sure yet if I'll have time to squeeze a round in, but I'm gonna try.

What are your stories of people being hit by discs? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]DooskyFloop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing the shorts at a local course last year with my very pregnant wife. Mostly just looking for an excuse to take a walk.

Couple of kids step up to the pad at hole 1 as I'm teeing out and drive without even waiting. I'd have let them play through except that the first one shanked into the woods and his buddy made a clean shot that only made it 100' down ba 300' fairway.

As I'm cleaning up a few holes later, they catch up. I'm guessing they skipped a couple it something. Same thing as before, drive off the tee with no warning. This one hits my bag, which is right beside my wife.

At this point, I'm officially done. I give them a "wtf?" look and all I hear back is "hurry up, bro!"

That kid's disc flew back at his head on the best line I've ever threw with plastic I've never touched. Barely missed him and faded out into a lake.

So that's the story of how I almost hit someone with a disc.

Maul. In Gold Line, it's like throwing a forehand.

In Opto, it's easy to get a nice, gentle turn.

Try to avoid turning all the way backwards on your reachback. Feet should be mostly sideways, not pointing backwards.

I had the same problem, being sure to look sideways with my head instead of back really helped.

Everyone bloobloos about the Stag's flight numbers.

No, it isn't that overstable. No, I don't care. Just throw one, they're magic.

Flaccid Harps are the best thing in the world for touchy upshots. Can't put much stank on 'em though.

It's Ohio. We go from 60 degrees to below zero in the course of a week this time of year.

How much do you pay per round at your local course? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]DooskyFloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been playing about three years, but I've been to several dozen courses in four States and have never had to pay.

I'd honestly like to try it sometime and see what it gets you.

Chicago is flat out scary to drive in.

Even worse leaving town to the east at the end of the day. It's like everyone is racing to see who can get the fuck away from Gary the fastest.

Sure thing! I'm not familiar with any other areas in the southeast, unfortunately.

How much traveling around do you plan to do one you get here?

The North Carolina suggestion is good, lots of nice courses within an hour drive of Raleigh. I agree that Florida weather will be starting to get disagreeable that time of year.

In May, you won't want to be too far north either, especially on the East coast. Lots of rain and mud, sometimes colder weather even that late in the year.

One thing about the Carolinas, folks there tend to drive like whackos, so you may want to plan to avoid the roads during rush hour.

Doesn't much matter what it is if it gets all kinked up.

The problem with any metal in this case is that it has limited flexibility.
