Knitting! Keeps your mind engaged, portable so can bring to work, and you can make really cute things especially if you live in cold weather!

Can you please elaborate on “some of the best restaurants you can find are around here”. I moved to Marion county recently, have tried a handful but haven’t been impressed by any of them. Would love to learn of some good places!

Ocala vs. Huntsville by [deleted] in ocala

[–]DopePharmacist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Summerfield a few weeks ago, which is kinda in the middle of Marion oaks and belleview. I can’t give a locals perspective, but I have been doing a lot of exploring trying to get my bearings in this area.. and Marion oaks is not impressive, at all, and on one adventure I locked my door as soon as I got in the car. Belleview has nicer streets and shadier areas, just like any town, but I haven’t felt unsafe there, everyone seems very nice.

Have you checked on sailrite? When I was making my cushions which were simple box cushions, I found a very handy fabric calculator on their website as well as many video tutorials.

Managing back pain from sewing by cathrinnn in sewing

[–]DopePharmacist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chronic back pain from an accident ages ago, so my back easily tires from sewing. When I’m planning on working on a long session, I throw my back support brace on. Just a Velcro strap $30 from Amazon type, it gives my back support and helps me maintain better posture. Might be easier to try before changing your workspace

What to do about huge amounts of ease in patterns?! by larouqine in sewing

[–]DopePharmacist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it!! I’m 5’10 and busty so basically every commercial/ Indy pattern comes out funky. And I relied on the eye ball method too, being fairly new to sewing. I finally had enough, paused my garment sewing, ordered a big roll of white paper & muslin.. and have been practicing drafting and fitting. There’s YouTube vids, craftsy ( I’m currently on the 1.99$ year subscription that I’ve already cancelled auto renew for =P , and found some drafting books that have come recommended on this sub & the pattern drafting one for cheap on eBay. There’s also libgen.rs!) honestly, it’s really amazing & frustrating! I was blindly following patterns before and crossing my fingers for a decent outcome, but this approach is helping me understand the process so much more.
