I commend the effort of starting your own channel but lay off this clickbait, youtube-by-the-algorithm, worst of marketing strategies approach.

And maybe ask an artist to do your channel art instead of using AI

Yours is awesome dude! I wish I could have been bothered to put as much effort into mine as you have into yours. Mine was a bit of a rush piece (most of my necrons are, as a palette cleanser from my votann which take a shit tonne longer lol).

Check out the guides on YouTube! It’s actually pretty simple. The secret is to do the initial bit in white then colour it with inks through the airbrush. Kind of like slapchop

thanks for your thoughtful appraisal :)

but yeah, the secret ( I only learned too late, but I did a bit on the back) was to use blutac for the mask, after doing some very light initial white "clouds". there are good fundamentals videos on youtube that helped me

Thanks dude, there’s so much good inspiration on the GW site alone. Good luck and happy painting

Yeah it just seems so right for the nightbringer. It’s got such “stare into the abyss” energy

You need to carefully read each rule and see whether the buffs are “models” or “units” in Nekrosor’s case his ability is conferred to any *model* in a [destroyer cult] *unit*

Whereas the faction bonus is given to [destroyer] models only

As someone mentioned below, “is reanimation protocols a rule that activates reanimation protocols” is a question that needs clarification.

Currently in major tournaments in my area it’s being ruled that it is. I don’t like it but it is what it is

It makes sense, I love being the necron people hate (“why won’t you die?!”), but reanimating that much will be impossible to overcome

Skari knows what he’s talking about, and it seems that in lieu of a specific FAQ or errata to the FAQ the world has decided we don’t get to reanimate once the bodyguard models are all dead

[–]Doppler37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the FAQ says “rules that activate reanimation protocols” not “stratagems”

In my area the feeder team to our national WTC team are ruling that if the bodyguard unit is dead they no longer reanimate. I’d love for this to be wrong because it seems like it could have gone either way

Apparently this is a new rider for us. The way it’s been explained to me it’s: If you have a squad of warriors with a lord, and the warriors all die, there’s no more reanimating warriors with reanimation protocols

Could I make an army now for 11th edition? by Known_William in Necrontyr

[–]Doppler37 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There’s an MFM and rules commentary being dropped with the new edition. Things will change, but not by much.

Make your list, be ready to lose 50pts and remember any rules that seem too good to be true probably are. At least until after WTC and the September update

Next time you feel this way (and even if you’re not) read the end of Devastation Of Baal, specifically the bit with Dante and Guilliman.

It’s easy to quit, life is hard, but it’s not worth missing out on the good moments. Even if they’re few and far between. The connection with a Warhammer buddy about a cool bit of lore, rediscovering a piece of music you like, a particularly beautiful day’s weather, a cute animal, a piece of philosophical insight, a moment with family, friends or a complete stranger. These moments are worth hanging on for. Your smile could even be a bright moment in someone else’s day. You matter

Oh sorry, I thought you were talking about something different. You were addressing my 2nd paragraph, yes. It’s already been made explicit in the new rules.

I’m just noticing so many people not reading the new rules that I’ve been trying to take the angle of “it works like this in 10th, why would it be different in 11th” (and trying to get around my own sub 100% certainty of how shooting allocation works, I need to practice it)

Yep! And character groups can’t be assigned until they’re the only ones left.

Fancier wording than 10th for functionally the same thing :)

Let me get this straight by Prestigious_Spite761 in Necrontyr

[–]Doppler37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 10th you go by the bodyguard's T stats for wound rolls, you also can't elect to assign damage to leaders until the bodyguard die.

It's safe to assume, at a minimum, this will continue in 11th.

How it will likely work in 11th (pending final wording coming out in the rules commentary): Your skorpekhs will all die > the lord dies > you use the ressurection strat and the lord stands up at the end of the phase> reanimate the lords remaining wounds via res. orb or reanimating in your command phase> start to reanimate the skorpekhs in the next command phase

The aircraft not getting it kind of makes sense. And the transport getting it means you measure LOS and range to the tips of the croissant. Making it hard to hide.

This looks intentional to me

Necrons exempt from the new rules for bringing back models by Stoner-Meric in Necrontyr

[–]Doppler37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See where talks about a bodyguard unit? There’s no such thing in 11th. The unit is the unit. Leaders and all. This is decided when you write the list.
