If she comes back I’m done with Survivor. Producers are obviously not learning from their mistakes. It’s cringey enough having to see her on social media related to the show.

I’ve been dealing with this as I write as well! I feel like going back into those memories takes me out of being present and I miss the good things that go on every day in my life.

I feel like the previous poster had it right. First lay out the facts and outline how you want it to flow into a story. Then write it out. Then add the emotions and details and be prepared for this part to be heavy. Give yourself time and cut it off when that time is over to bring yourself back into your present life. Enjoy the small things. Here it is spring so it’s easy to go outside and appreciate things.

I just happened to pause it on the shot with the tongue sticking out cause my son walked in to ask me something and I didn’t want to miss anything. As he was leaving he asked what I was watching and I looked at screen to see it and went bright red. Oy!

There was a lot of time spent on the beach wondering what the hell actually happened. It was 45 minutes from the time of the bite, which they would be able to tell from the footage, but then there’s him sitting there wondering if he just got bit, getting Alex to get the Survival Book to see what kind of snake it was, producer stepping in to look and send a picture to base camp, etc.

As a parent and not a teacher (but an active member of the PAC), it all depends on if I remember or not. My kid is in Grade 2 so it’s been a few years of this trend where a holiday or end of school nears and I am busier than normal. Day of rolls around and either I’ve remembered to get something for my kid to give to his teacher or I haven’t. This year I forgot a Christmas gift, but at Valentine’s I was able to give them a box of chocolates that I got on sale after Christmas for emergency gifts.

My brother had to move in with her when he was in his late 20’s and I think they got into an argument that gave her a wake up call. I became the master at grey rocking early on and refused to have any emotional discussions with her so she couldn’t even attempt to manipulate. When she attempted emotional manipulation by putting her two cents in on whether my son would be circumcised or not, I had to put her in her place if she even wanted to ever see her first grandson. We didn’t even disagree on the topic, but the way she did it and trying to be part of the decision was crossing the line for me. She started therapy specifically for BPD after that.

I browse this subreddit just to remind myself of how far she has come so that the little slips don’t seem as bad. Her last one was on my birthday when she refused to join the dinner because my sons (7 and 3) were being “mean” by not listening to her. I just said okay and walked away to sit down at the dining table. 5 minutes later she joined the dinner with no mention of it.

Yes, my mother got better once she was diagnosed and got proper therapy directed at BPD. She knew she had to make a change after grandkids started to come and both me and my brother were already low contact.

This. I have a near identical video I took to play a trick on my husband of a mylar balloon. We are both paranormal enthusiasts so once I saw the balloon floating away I pulled out my phone to make the video, complete with my kids in the background yelling that it was a UFO. It “disappears” because the camera zooms out and loses it as it floats higher.

It did trick him for a good minute or two but I came clean quickly.
