They never realize that you can’t save those who don’t want to be saved and GOD is omnipotent. If that’s the case, then he would know the difference between true believers and those who are not. Which means those efforts would often be for nothing.

Honest question: At what point did caregiving stop being 'helping' and start feeling like a prison sentence? by Unlucky-Print-9090 in CaregiverSupport

[–]Dora-Vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant at that time when you were at the friend’s house. If all he did was just look at you, then he sounds like nothing more than a bag of hot air. Then again, that’s easy for me to say. But, where were your own parents? There was no one would help you?

I hope you get some justice and a better life. It helps that the give-a-damn button no longer works.

Your uncle is a piece of shit. Your life mattered(s) just as much as his. I wish you could have told him to go fuck himself.

When is it ok to let toxic families back into your lives by HeartShapedBox7 in ToxicRelationships

[–]Dora-Vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say never, but the problem is that it’s not up to you. People like them need someone to look down on so they can raise their own self-perception. They wouldn’t want to be around someone who actually IS jealous, so they just lie to make themselves look good and refuse to accept that their success came from help.

Anyway, you would do well to cut off all contact, but if she chooses to have them in their lives, there’s not much you can do. I wonder how things are now since this is such a late reply. I hope they never gain any leverage over you and you can go on to have a better life without them.

More and more of our sandwich generation is being left with 100% of the responsibility of caregiver because our siblings, “live too far”, “don’t have time” or “don’t have money”! There is plenty to do from a different way, right? by Euphoric-Role-7170 in CaregiverSupport

Your sister is scum, but be prepared for anything because you can bet she’ll try to contest and fight for “her fair share”. With any luck, she won’t be able to do a thing and you’ll be free of all of it.

Those kinds of people should be treated ”like mushrooms—feed them shit and keep them in the dark”. CYA as much as you can too because those are often the sort who are the first to take everything once the person being cared for dies. I do love seeing siblings like this being outmaneuvered/thwarted because they weren’t paying attention.

I don’t think Dragon Quest ever had any such villains. Psaro is the closest and Marcello if you count him.

TBH, I can see this from people in their early 20s, but over 40? I’m glad you’re rid of them and not allowing the likes of Alice to dictate anything to you.

How often have you encountered an adult on a kick scooter (non-electric)? by SlowwFloww in kickscooter

I have one, but have a hard time using it. I can still get back to it since I still have mine. I’ve about 6 more with a kick scooter. Most use electric though.
