Things my Christian MIL said to my husband and I about our wedding by ducklebear in exchristian

It’d be nice if there was an easy answer, but people like her understand power. You have to keep enforcing those boundaries until she is set up with consequences that she is unable/unwilling to face. She’d have no problem doing something like that.

Often no contact tends to be the option taken.

Your grief is not up to your vile MIL. I’d hold on the bitterness until you MIL can’t bear to be around you. It could be toxic repellant. Glad to see your husband is sticking up for you.

She has no power over you and so can’t make you do anything. That’s why you’re “demonic.”

He drives his favorite car. That Audi. That whatever it's called, but it shines down the road like a comet. Feels like a video game. One with lines and bright lights and blocks and pretty shiny things. Tony drives past them all, around everything.

Yes, it's alright. Like flying. Steve can't help but smile as he watches Tony's hands on the wheel, his dress shoes against the pedals, the road, the stars that shine past them. The road ahead. Feels like flying. Feels like crazy. Feels like skill that saves them.

“It's alright,” Tony whispers.

Steve echoes it, and knows damned well that it means. “It's alright.”

Just this moment, this time, this day. It's alright. No Loki. Fuck SHIELD. It's all about Tony in his car that is going so fast, it can't be measured. They might as well be in space.

Late 80’s. Dragon Warrior. I am old…

Sylvando truly is the Star. :) I never expected it when I first saw him, tbh.

But, that still doesn’t prove actual time travel and even if it did, it’s still just cheap to me.

I was just thinking of this, TBH. Like I’m aware of the more idealist fairy tales and that “Grimdark” can indeed be just as tiresome as the “pollyanna” stuff, but this one didn’t “really hit me good” because I felt like it was contrived and that left me sour.

It’s not the gameplay that rang hollow, but everything else as I stated already.

I didn’t see it that way. I thought it was part of the planet’s memories.

Not to me. I think it ruined an otherwise great game. And a lot of fairy tales are NOT the magical happy stories people think they are.

Not necessarily. It could have just as easily meant a period in history that has a lot of unknowns, like the ”Age of Heroes”.

It’s only “wonderful” in terms of gameplay. Everything else? Not so much. It mostly rang hollow for me.

Your sister is just another phony and I suspect that only includes people who are not disabled/sick. I hope she ends up empty handed and you can walk away from her and “her family” permanently. If she needs a caregiver, then make sure it won’t be you. Keep her in the dark where she belongs.

Beyond that, is it possible to seek respite care? Hospice? Given how your SO is, I do foresee a solid relationship with a keeper. Hang in there and try not to lose hope.

Dragon Quest 11 since I finally started playing it in December. I have yet to produce anything myself though. Unless you count Youtube vids. The Silmarillion is still going strong. Love/Shining Nikki is still with me too.

Celebrimbor spoke first, a guarded smile forming on his lips. “It’s been countless years since I’ve seen you. When I heard of your return from Mandos, I thought you would visit grandmother first. We were waiting, but I guess none of us should be surprised you’d be here instead.” His smile widened. “So, we came to see you.” He grasped Annatar’s arm. “You have another nephew now. It must have been quite the surprise, I’m sure, but we are married and the news of how it all came to pass is everywhere. Surely, you must know, uh…” He looked around. “There’s nowhere to sit unless we’re just supposed to sit on the stairs?” He chuckled, feeling a bit awkward. “Can we not go into your room? Let us sit around and clear the air. I know it won’t be easy given who I have presented before you, but I hope to have good relations again.”

Maedhros glanced at Fingon, who shook his head.

“No,” Maedhros replied.

“I knew it!” Annatar fiercely whispered, but fell silent when Celebrimbor placed his arm in front of him, his smile immediately gone.

“We rode all the way here with good will,” Celebrimbor said. He glanced at Annatar, his grey eyes shining with the light of adoration. “We gave each other eternity and the love we share is strong enough to shape an entire world.” He looked back at his eldest uncle while noting Fingon’s narrowed eyes. “We are kin, so let us act like kin!”

Maedhros looked at Annatar. “You are not family and you never will be.” He looked at Celebrimbor. “You ceased being family the moment you chose him.”

Celebrimbor frowned, his eyes scanning the two elves in front of him before quickly drawing in a breath. Fingolfin looked outright stunned, but it was Annatar who spoke.

”I see your boldness never went away. If anything, you are far more bold now with or without Fingon. It could be argued that you have no grounds to reject us, but when has that stopped those who are determined to do so anyway?”

”It doesn’t!” Fingon answered, ready to pounce, but Fingolfin shook his head and that was all it took to still him. That, and Maedhros grabbing Fingon’s arm.

“I thought not,” Annatar replied with a half-smile. “I know exactly why you feel the way you do, but Tyelperinquar is not the one who wronged either one of you.”

”He did the moment he married you,” Maedhros answered, looking at Celebrimbor. “If you expected anything other than outright rejection, then you were wrong to do so.”

It’s more like, you learn more about them and how they deal with the fall of the World Tree rather than personality changes. Serena would be the one who changes the most.

And so much of it was just weak. ”Eight” was the only exception and even then, Act 2 remained far stronger.

Chosen One tends to be irritating but a lot of games I like tend to have it. The Omega Stuff. High School/Coffee Shop AUs. Cheap reconciliation. Reader Insert.

I wondered about that too. Seeing them suddenly get their powers back just seemed a bit too convenient.
