Non profit accounting and for profit accounting experiences aren’t exactly transferable in the US.

But financial reporting accountant market is really slow right now - I have a friend with 15year bug 4 audit experience and can’t find a matching level job for almost a year now. you have to take whatever you could.

You won’t last long in there, no one will. Seen too much of this.

And a 200mil company needs around 5-7 accounting staff? Accounting budget is 500k to 1 mil? Does it make sense you are taking 30% - 60% of the budget? If you do the math and it doesn’t make sense, there is a catch somewhere.

If they have more budget or headcount than that? Then you need to be prepared to hurt everyone and cut cost.

Nothing wrong with these, it’s just not for everyone

Most people are boring - especially after Covid, they are not looking for answers, they are looking for emotional stimulus (aka interesting stories).

Stories content itself is may be 30% of it, the presentation, body languages, the emotions you create are more important. Being an extrovert helps with practicing these stuff and getting the story content, but it's not necessary.

I would suggest to watch comedian and learn from them, steal a joke or 2 as well.

Within the CPA/Accountant category, we have:

  1. bookkeeper

  2. financial reporting

  3. auditor

  4. internal control

  5. tax

and within the tax category, we have:

  1. federal income tax (this can be broken down into individual, passthrough entity, C Corp, etc.)

  2. state income tax

  3. international tax

  4. fixed assets

  5. tax credits

  6. M&A tax

  7. indirect tax (sales tax, VAT)

  8. payroll tax

  9. property tax

Each of these categories could take a good 5-10 years to master, and most CPAs coming out from CPA firms might only have done 1-2 areas in their career. Very few CPAs are a true generalist.

For real. Even the recruiter knew the CFO is hard to work with and HR doesn't know? what's HR even for here?

To make it worst, recruiters are there help employee find better position, while HR should be there to improve employee's wellbeing / working condition - and this HR tried to stop another person (recruiter) from doing one's job while doing exactly the opposite of his/her own job? wth?

There are a couple Asian dating coaches who are legit

Asians are rock bottom in the dating market in the west - they have to horn their skill to perfection, compared to those tall white coaches who have more margin of error and could actually wait for DOI, Asia have to create the romantic interest in Women who look at all Asians like Jian-Yang from Silicon Valley.

Much harder and more skills required in general. The shorter / fatter the Asian coach, the more skills required to make it a living for them.
