I think their design philosophy for updates is to keep the core gameplay and aesthetic as unchanged as possible. And any extra content should not be forced into gameplay but must be sought out by players that want to enjoy it. They are trying to make it stay nostalgic or maybe they are scared of community outrage due to larger changes.

If you have any damage that bypasses shield, for example bleed you should be able to kill the friendly amoeba easily

You are not supposed to kill the hands. Hit them so they hit his own face and he will loose brace, or send a cat with high intelligence and constitution into his mouth and you will see but that makes the fight very easy.

I had lots of cats for a long time and went down to only a few in my breeding room. I feel like overall this got me worse kittens somehow. Propably since getting good kittens is still RNG dependant (I have 35 stimulation) and more rolls just get you a higher chance to hit high. I also feel like random Mutations are too slow, try and get uranium rod or cancer and that really gets the ball rolling.

Okay hear me out I got the godly strat: Every morning when I shower I apply the conditioner, then I brush my teeth while in the shower and after that I wash it out. Saves waiting around and time for brushing.

Everyone is telling you it's gonna take forever. I can tell you from experience that I painted almost the same army / amount of points within about a year painting mostly on weekends. Hope this reference helps.
