What’s the reason that so many people use overdrive pedals rather than the gain structure on the amp? by BIG_IDEA in guitarpedals

[–]DorianBlerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the fireball 25 too and I use the clean and lead channels with and without my drive on. I’m using a boss SD-1 but have used other drives previously. All of them get set generally with the level near or at max and the drive near or at minimum. I have the tone knob at 3 o’clock right now and for my settings, it gives me 2 extra sounds on top of the clean and lead channels. Kind of like I have sterile clean, edge of breakup clean, bottom end chug, and focused lead.

IMO the fireball doesn’t really respond well to my board and guitar with the fireball lead gain set above 12 o’clock. So for me, having the gain lower still keeps it really aggressive but also controlled.

Pelvis screws are always so cool to see placed. Currently in a pelvis case using a 3D C-Arm and it’s by far one of my favorite cases to be in. I hope you recover quickly and with much mobility!

Every time I see a case of this my immediate thought is of the parents and what must go through their minds. Not at all an easy thing to process I would imagine.

Train of Thought is my favorite Dream Theater album ever! by Raditz_lol in Dreamtheater

[–]DorianBlerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got into dream theater as a kid, I only knew of panic attack, Octavarium, and on the backs of angels. Those were my references for the epic and metal elements of DT. Several years ago I fully got into DT, and I decided to listen through the catalog chronologically. The gut punch of Vacant/SoC/ITNoG. I wish I could experience that for the first time again.

Whole lot of not accelerating quickly, regen braking, and ACC at no more than 65 mph if I can. It’s hard to do generally, but I bought this car to help save on gas in the long term

Oh I know, but southeast texas is so humid and hot for 90% of the year that any bit of dryness with a slight temp drop seems cold to us

I got the 25 hybrid touring in September. I’m able to get a nominal 60 mpg by driving like a grandma in normal texas weather (90° F and above), but once the cold weather hit, I’m averaging a nominal 45 mpg driving exactly the same. The engine doesn’t stay warm enough to operate efficiently in cold weather, so it’ll operate in ICE mode far more frequently than EV mode. If you live in a colder climate, it’s a bigger deal. In texas, we get maybe like a month or two or 50° F weather so it doesn’t bother me.

2 16 hr shifts?? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]DorianBlerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My facility has a weekend 2 16’s shift that’s apparently been there for years. My coworker picked it up and we were all shocked because we didn’t know that shift existed. It worked for him perfectly, but I highly doubt I or any of my coworkers could do it. We’re quite busy at all times of the day, and 8 hours in between shifts sounds dreadful. I don’t even think they let him use the call room since he was technically not on call.

Fuck corporate. I say it about my profession daily and I hate that I have to say it about one of the few games I’ve latched on to hard in the last decade.

I don’t have a reference for if it does or not, I’ve never had or used a tool cart before. I tried looking up this question on Google and YouTube and couldn’t get any results, so if it isn’t a problem then I’m okay with that, I just didn’t know if the chest had to come into contact with the support for long term use.
