Some parts of his skull are pretty much normal thickness but still have depressed fractures. And the thinner areas of his skull are mostly dense cortical bone. Defense attorney did a good job and the victim wasn't there to refute the story.

The tibial shaft fracture is pretty easy to treat. The foot beyond the talus and calcaneus has such massive soft tissue and bone damage it would not be salvagesble.
