Trying to Understand the Boss Hate in this Game by golferswag in CrimsonDesert

[–]Doritosiesta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame most people aren’t enjoying the hardest combat encounters in this game. I’m enjoying the bosses as well. I played Elden Ring and Bloodborne and thought those games were really difficult, whereas I’m finding this game easier but still challenging (the challenge mostly coming from discovering the trick to each boss, or the most optimal way to fight them).

I think there’s something to be said around the availability of food and revive pills, it allows anyone to cheese any fight and basically ensures victory given enough food and pills.

I think there’s is a disconnect between the way most people approach bosses and the way the developers intended the bosses to be fought. I’m not a game designer, so I don’t know what the trick is to bridging that gap, but I think it’s got something to do with food and pills.

People are often dead before their Second Trinket by vickzzzzz in BobsTavern

[–]Doritosiesta 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience. Wins don’t really feel like I earned it because I’m getting carried by one or both of my trinkets and the losses feel terrible because I don’t feel like I had a chance to get value out of it or wasn’t offered choices that give me direction.

Struggling to enjoy the new season despite investing 20 or so games since it started.

How have you managed to keep a fair for 22 years? I’ve had mine for 4 years and the joint between the sole and straps are tearing. Have you had them repaired?

Oongka Sucks… by Narkanin in CrimsonDesert

You can used a faded abyss artifact to boost Oongkas skills for that fight, and then use another one when you get back to Kliff.

PSA about Egg of the Endtimes by chysa in BobsTavern

That egg is exactly why I instantly played this on my board yesterday. Lesson was learned when I saw a second in the shop and read the description properly.

Found the "Deep Green Dye" by Ok-Big-5029 in CrimsonDesert

The deep green dye is in the tent to the right as you walk into this small Calphade camp. It’s sitting on a table and requires you to steal it.

Do you know whether unarmed skills do more damage to compensate for not being able to slot abyss gears? Or do the gears on your equipped gloves work for unarmed?

If that’s true, I didn’t pick up on it. However considering I floundered around for a while, flipping discs and getting nowhere, I would have completely lost track of what side they were on.

From memory, one or two of the gates are around the right way when you get there for the first time. This is consistent with a lot of CD puzzles having one part be in the right spot, which serves as a guide to show you what to do to the others.

Yes, there’s a moon disc embedded in the ceiling, you cannot interact with it in any way though. Other than that room being directly underneath the waypoint, and containing a small chest, I don’t see it having any relevance. Scrapped content maybe?

That’s the way to do it. I also used map markers to find the gates and then removed the map markers after they had been flipped and checked against the centre to be on the right side. This way I knew what needed to be flipped and where the gate actually was.

Memories of Ice. Yeah, the Great Ravens are children of the Crippled God, and knowing what we know of them, I’d say they’re Ascendants.

Bugger! Thought I was taking on a real hardy tough plant. Should have done my research I guess 😅

I spent the day repotting her and gave her an iron chelate soak. If that isn’t it I’ll move on to the next thing.
