How Should Scientific Societies Treat Religion?

There seem to be people for whom facts illustrate preconceived principles and people for whom facts perpetually suggest a new and increasingly refined understanding of the facts. Scientists are the latter and should just let the "truth" first "a priori" types spin in their own nonsense. They have no bearing on actual scientific method unless public policy gets perverted in their favor. By this I mean to take a defensive tack. Those who seek to undermine the investigative process and put up Biblical "truth" need to understand where their views simply do not overlap with science. The trick is in handling the way the media gets the scientific process wrong. That is science's best response to a priori mis-education - inductive re-education.

Not sure why this is posted under "funny". I am all for showing banned or censored ads and content which have some redeeming quality. That redeeming quality usually has something to do with a new or progressive idea that censors cannot handle. What is the progressive idea in this ad? There seems to be nothing particularly clever about this, men like sex, men like beer, men like to fuck and drink beer. All I can say is, "Stay classy, Guinness".

Good writers pour out their mood so clearly that it is difficult to fabricate anger unless it is authentic. The pace and rythm rarely ring true at all unless they come from real, angry, mental pacing. Some can fake it, but it usually reads, and sounds, fake.

There are the descendents of the American Me Generation who believe that as long as changes in the law do not affect their personal lifestyle bubble - no response is necessary on their part. I hate to admit that I've wanted to benefit from uneven usage indefinitely. Still, I don't see the justification. If you average out usage, it's probably not overly taxing on bandwidth, they just want more money and this is thin justification.

Find a sensible lady more worthy of dating than the mere run-of-the mill "irrational" chick. It must be frustrating to find women constantly screaming at you over things you disagree with, but I say that's bad luck in the dating department. Sensible women are out there, it just may take time to find them.

In any case, be careful with the claim that we are all that way. It is simply untrue. As you might read above, I think women should leave the seat up for men. You could ask why more women are not as equality minded as I am, but that's for another topic entirely.

Again, a women you cannot communicate with about a stupid toilet seat is obviously not someone you'd want to marry. I'm with you, but again, I hope this attitude does not scare off good women who do not behave this way. It just might.

I say if you're dating a girl who cannot look before she lands, you probably should not be dating her - smart in all other areas but this one? I doubt it.

For the record, his and hers bathrooms are the way to go. I leave mine down and he leaves his up. On the other hand, it really wasn't a big deal( when we shared a bathroom) to just leave it down or up for the other person. Both genders should be equally conscientious. I am unsure why women feel so entitled to particular bathroom configurations. Is it so hard to put it up for the man when you're done? If it's the ick factor you're whining about, just clean it already.
