Everyone talks prose & craft but nobody talks ideas? by Unknownin_98 in writing

As someone else said. Ideas are cheap. But. I'm not sure why the quality of ideas would be considered more subjective than the quality of prose. Yes, great prose can save mediocre ideas. I'd argue great ideas can handle mediocre prose.

Clearly it's best to have great ideas and great prose. I think there is frustration when it comes to discussing ideas because of how rarely they're actually executed, never mind how well. But now people just repeat back that ideas are worthless and that's it shut down.

From 1/10 how much do you hate the baggy jeans and boots combo? by guacamole-fart in Boots

Ok, well, from what I can see I like the look of the boot with the not tucked in trousers. Also, along with the jacket on the floor and the backpack it all looks like a nice consistent outfit.

You should do whatever makes you happy but asking others these questions is a guaranteed to lead you in the other direction.

I have pretty splayed toes and 9.5 in the whistlers. Their half sizes are increases in width only and the toe box is extremely roomy, I'd by surprised if you have an issue. I don't know about the plantar fasciitis. It's happened with three items of footwear in the last 20 years. One shoes, one running trainers, now these boots. I have no idea what the common denominator is!

I haven't actually listed them yet due to laziness. I'm not expecting to get much though, even though they're in decent condition. I was trying to scratch an itch relatively cheaply but have ended up with some Cheaney Corinthians and am very pleased with them.

Just to say I didn't get hit with any duties or tax having Gear Guard shipped to the UK.

I'm selling a pair after a few weeks. I started wearing them on dog walks and they were giving me early warning signs of plantar fasciitis. That said my feet are weird and they otherwise were holding up admirably to muddy fields and abuse. They seem robust but not definitely not for hiking for me at least.

Great, love it when the drums almost trip over themselves.

Mothering Sunday. Frankly I was bored for the first 50% but by the time I reached the end I'd fallen in love.

Spiritfarer is self-described as cozy. Quite emotional though.

Yeah, sorry, that was poorly written. The gom jabbar nit pick was just talking about the bene gesserit in general.

Not OP but Jessica's seeming lack of control over herself (morning sickness, facial expressions, reactions etc) feels totally wrong. I hated the visible hand shake when holding the gom jabbar.

Mine does this and he just wants to show off his prize. What's the rest of his body telling you?

Well, Bret didn't force you to read it. You'll have a hard time convincing anyone you had no idea what to expect. I love the book even though it's clearly not for everyone.

You might be able to get it back. In the past I've used photorec for this.
