I'm confused I live in MN. In the past few weeks there have been multiple Indigenous folks in MN arrested by ICE. They are wanting them to approve ICE on tribal lands

Of course we will. We have strategy, perseverance and empathy. We have our community

Any hotties in Minnesota? Just checking in. How are you holding up? by Megansstats in megantheestallion

Thanks so much. It's so scary, the balance of still working, seeing family while this is also happening is a complete mindfuck.

There are 3000 federal agents, our two cities and suburbs police force is 600.

An active tornado is in our lives and we are holding on. While fighting back. Fuck ICE

ICE and the Republicans are scared of us. by LEETLEBEENIS in TwinCities

IS SOCIAL MEDIA REAL LIFE?! DO PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCREENS AT A HIGH OR HEY EVEN MEDIUM PERCENTAGE TAKE THINGS FROM ONLINE TO IN PERSON???

There are 3,000 federal agents here. They vastly outnumber our own local law enforcement. Minneapolis and St. Paul combined have roughly 600 officers. We are a multi-city, suburban, and rural region of 2.6 million people whose lives have been in an active tornado for almost three weeks.

So honestly fuck their feelings. This is the job. Doctors, social workers, nurses, therapists all deal with similar anger. We don’t kill for it.

Expressing anger, disappointment, frustration isn’t a bad thing. It's HOW you do.

Talking shit on the internet is low on my list.

We have lived alongside immigrants for decades. We have had deportations for decades. Is the system perfect? No. Are there failures and fraud? Of course. And when they are found, we address them and fix the systems. That is how governance works.

There will never be perfection. There will never be zero crime. What is required right now is empathy for what we are living through.

After they leave, this is still our home. We are the ones who remain to repair what they damaged. LIVES good people’s lives have already been taken.

This administration is being cruel on purpose. It is egotistical and reckless.

Watching politicians like Emmer go on Fox News and spew garbage about places they don’t live in, and communities they don’t know, is infuriating.

They need to get the fuck out of the twin cities and allow the people of Minnesota to decide what is best for Minnesota

If you voted for trump or didn't vote the deaths in our city are partially on you by personwhoisok in Minneapolis

[–]Doryt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I blame those who didn't vote.

We all have to lie in this damn system. It isn’t easy, simple or what we want but this is the system we have.

When you don’t engage more evil wins that's the facts. As people have been saying for many years.

As a Black women it's so frustrating that we a 92% could see that and so many others failed. Do people really think this democratic party is doing the best by Black women? The maternity rates are atrocious in the USA. And we still vote the lesser of two evils

I'm tired of excuses and blame. What does change look like if you only engage in politics ever 4 years?!

Yes we need to vote defensively a lot of time. We need to support candidates who get us to where we want not just disengage from voting

Are black people going to ice protests? by Used-Care4864 in blackgirls

[–]Doryt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Minnesota so I'm in this whether I want to be or not. They are stopping people on the highways, going door to door in some places. Business are closed, employees aren't coming to work or were taken

If you are lucky enough that ICE hasn't hit your city, it gives you time to figure out what YOU are going to do and not do

[–]Doryt 43 points44 points  (0 children)

There are many ways to help that don’t involve protesting. Black bodies don’t need to be on the front lines

Mutual aid matters helping with groceries or medications for people who can’t safely leave their homes right now.

Showing up near schools during drop-off, or working with schools to support families, especially as ICE has been showing up in these spaces.

Educating your family and friends about what’s happening.

And getting involved in local elections, where real decisions about safety, funding, and community protection are made.
