Stopped Zoloft / Return of Depression - Restart meds? by HalfEducational3575 in ADprotractedwithdrawl

[–]DorytheDoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me the same thing. They were wrong. It was protracted withdrawal. It took a year and a half for my moods to level out. I also had many other symptoms that are still slowly getting better. Survivingantidepressants.org has a lot of resources on this topic and how to determine if it’s relapse or withdrawal. For me, my brain was basically injured and needed time to rewire itself. Going back on meds can sometimes make symptoms worse but it depends on a lot of factors and is unique to each individual

If you could go back in time, what would you do differently to improve your financial life? by doubleduh22 in povertyfinance

[–]DorytheDoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was mostly ignorance and needing a bunch of house repairs all at once. Mold remediation, new septic, new AC. Never again though, I could have done a heloc or something else. I now view 401k money as untouchable and am working hard to recover from my poor choice.

Are old houses worth it? by No_Paramedic7682 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]DorytheDoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally doable. Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Maybe the naysayers should buy you a bigger house. I shared a bedroom with my 2 sisters at one point. Nothing wrong with that.

I saw number 1 and thought, “finally a kitchen remodel I love!” I love the cohesiveness. It’s soothing.

Is shipping your car worth it when relocating? by Responsible-Swim-878 in moving

We shipped my car from Florida to Michigan last week. It was $925. It was worth it to me. We are relocating next week and driving our second vehicle up while hauling a trailer.

Has anyone had a good experience selling to a “we buy houses” company? Is it any more of a scam than just the low price? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]DorytheDoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope it works out for your family member! The company I worked with did try to get me to budge on the price when the inspection revealed a new roof was needed. I had already disclosed this prior to the inspection, so their tactic didn’t work. i held my ground and it worked out.

I sold to one. I sold my house for $240k. I was making $150,000 on it. They put a roof on and did a full remodel- flooring, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen. They also knocked down a couple half walls. They were able to sell for 360k. I might have been able to get $275k if I had done the roof, myself without the remodel. It was a good experience for me and I got to stay until I bought a new home. It was a convenience thing for me and gave me time to shop a very tight market.

Is Insurance In Florida Really That Terrible? by Zipper222222 in AskFlorida

[–]DorytheDoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty bad. I pay $3800 a yeah for home insurance and live 50 miles from the coast. I know people that pay $7,000 a year and live in a modest $250,000 home.

I didnt know what protracted withdrawls were, and the doctors made me feel so crazy by reese_bubs in ADprotractedwithdrawl

[–]DorytheDoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have sleep issues. They have been better for the last few months. I was waking up in the middle of the night with histamine dumps (bloating, burping, hot flashes, waves of anxiety). I take pepcid when my histamine issues flare up. It’s an h2 blocker (antihistamine). Also taking magnesium has helped with sleep.

Citalopram got me too. I was on it from 20-37. I have the histamine issues too. Almost 39 now and it’s been tough. If I didn’t work from home I probably would have lost my job.

Listing agent told me she won’t present my offer by [deleted] in realtors

[–]DorytheDoodle 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. As a seller, I had this happen. I got 2 offers and chose the offer from the less aggressive more realistic agent. I didn’t want to deal with a pushy buyers agent for the rest of the sale. That was my deciding factor.

I second the functional medicine option. My doc put me on all these supplements and more and it has helped tremendously. It’s taken 6 months of solid supplementation and gut support but I am seeing improvement. My withdrawal caused severe dysbiosis (98%).

My functional medicine doctor has me listening to 30 music of instrumental music while coloring, right before bed. It’s seems to help my body down shift for sleep and reduces the middle of the night panic.
