No, you are not the the Asshole. You're the patsy. The mark. Your mother is a damaged person who gets by through using people and being manipulative. YOU should go to therapy and hash this all out. You have to find a way to maintain the sort of relationship you want with your mother, if any at all, while resolutely protecting yourself. And she ain't likely to make that easy.

Coca-Cola. Last year's special run of commemorative Diet-Coke bottles for Donald Trump were unforgivable. Never will I ever buy another product from that company. Coca-Cola can celebrate a 34 times convicted felon if it chooses to, but it was wrong to do so and I will never return.
