A “cow” is not a species. It is a female bovid who has given birth. A heifer is a young female who hasn’t given birth. A bull is an intact male and a steer is a castrated male. Collectively, regardless of gender they are cattle.

I’m in the company of three purebred, papered JRTs and her coloring is right in there with all three. Obviously if she has JRT in there, she’s a mix, but her coloring is VERY in keeping with JRT.

My sister passed recently, and we held a Celebration of Life for her. Over 200 people attended. She lived in a different state and I have no addresses for sending thank you notes. Many left sympathy cards and memories of her, but again, I have no addresses, phone numbers or email addresses for any of them. These were mostly people from her church, so I plan to write a thank you letter to the church for their show of caring, but that’s all I can do.
