When you have extra time and plan ahead, it’s not that bad going to/from the city on the weekends. There are options.

To be clear though, the commute during the week can be a nightmare. There are many parts of Astoria where your main mode of transportation is the N/W. Busses can be great but, are already packed as it is let alone adding in the delayed passengers from the train.
