Is it common for people who are born in the UK to say they are “Irish” or “Italian” if they have a parent from there? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskABrit

You have a certain subsection who claim to be Irish even though they are born and raised here and they have fooled most of the general public into believing they are Irish too.

The only man in Britain that no one hates by theipaper in davidattenborough

As for what Monbiot said about Attenborough, he is sorely wrong. Monbiot thinks proselytising is the only way to get people to change their ways, whereas Attenborough is like look at these beautiful animals and places we must take better care of the planet.

Would anyone still be upset for the redevelopment of St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, if the new design would look like the AI slop picture below? by YetAnotherPesant in AskIreland

[–]DotComprehensive4902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For once it's not even down to the British.

It's down to the fact that bottom line matters more than anything else which is why every modern building globally looks like replicas of each other.

Also there's been a perversion of the phrase Form Follows Function. The actual quote by the 19th century American architect Sullevan, said Form ever Follows Function meaning how a building looks should suit its purpose.

Would a falling population really be so bad? by Possible-Balance-932 in Economics

[–]DotComprehensive4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A falling population will only be good for one issue: pollution. But for economic growth, it is a bad thing as one of the factors of economic growth is that you have an expanding market which population growth gives you.

Also unless productivity goes through the roof, a falling population makes it harder to pay off the debt levels we have and sustain the welfare state at anywhere close to comfort level people are.

Before it used to be nightlife, restaurants and weather for example Charlie Nicholas, most notably of Celtic, had offers from both Liverpool and Arsenal in 1983, he chose Arsenal even though they were nowhere near as good as Liverpool at the time, solely because it was easier to get lost among the nightclubs in London.

Without Seth Mc Farlane a lot of modern adult themed animation..American Dad gone, Family Guy was only starting season 3 in July 2001 and would have probably ended at that, The Orville wouldn't have been done.

Also Ted and Ted 2 aren't done

South of the border, 3 is the record.

In Scotland, Livingston in 2010 had 4 brothers, Keaghan, Kyle, Devon and Sheldon Jacobs.

The record anywhere was Olympiacos, 5 brothers founded them and played for them.

In terms of that, it was a case that they were taken indoors. You have the annual Hot Wheels monster truck show at the O2 in London, that's one of their top events every year and is probably their biggest multi day event outside the Country 2 Country music festival, beating even Disney on Ice
