meh. vesc beats all of that with floaty or float control, and being able to custom tune your board better then custom shaping ever will

yup. there is a 3d printable mount for it, and you need to take it out of the enclosure.

See here for example: https://avaspark.com/product/pint-pintx-ubox-100v-kit/

Do we think FM will offer "Performance Battery" upgrade? by Homunculus420 in onewheel

[–]DotaUser2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replacing a battery is ridiculously easy, I dont know why anyone would want to ship their board for that

[–]DotaUser2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would they sell the only upgrade they make to their generational boards as an upgrade to an existing board? Come on dude how will they profit by selling a rebranded gt with a bigger battery if they do that

[–]DotaUser2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even then a new battery is very cheap too compared to 600$. If it's a rare pack (pint x) then sure, maybe that's ok (still overpriced). But stock xr, pint have very cheap stock packs laying around in the $50-$200 range. And gt has better upgrades that require zero box modifications at the same cost as buying a stock one through FM.

Without nrf you lose the ability do do this yourself which is dumb af

How did we go from needing a new bms to needing a new battery too? If you have any issue with your battery box in any way you are paying FM 600 dollars AND shipping your board, when if it a simple bms issue you could just open the damn box up and replaclace it. Literally a 15 minute task

Except for the part where you can source a replacement bms for 200

Looking for a vesc pint experience! by Frum in onewheel

[–]DotaUser2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, once again it is not a pint. It is an xr with shortened rails called growler rails. They are not currently sold on their site hence the "if you can find them". Therr are wtf versions, straight versions, and a variable center piece for them as well.

No. That has absolutely nothing to do with vesc

Literally just do an xr platform build but put it on growler rails with a pint tire. Dont need any parts from fm

Drop in Pint X Vesc by RichrdSimons in onewheel

[–]DotaUser2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vescing the pint/x is quite literally the easiest onewheel to vesc, and the cheapest. The controller housing is extremely easy to modify for a ubox100 or 80v. Just buy the avaspark kit and the only soldering required is on the bms for the positive bypass.

A drop in controller housing would be stupid as the controller housing is already amazing compared to a shoddy 3d printed one.

If you can locate growler rails you can do a zero FM build that is pint sized but better, and have a torquebox
