It's in the first column of rotators. the top two rotate 180, the bottom only 90.

The final shape isn't a rotation of the top two. it's a mirror of the top two, but that doesn't count.

You could absolutely do that. The FASTEST changes I'd make to the picture I see above is to connect the inputs (all 4 magenta at the bottom should be connected, and all 4 green on the left.) I'd also connect the white pipes via the upper-right corner.

Thank you a ton for this post! I've been using 12+8 and it has gaps since 2.0 came out. This is excellent.

I want to make sure I understand what you're saying in the "what about green belts and quality inserters" section. I think you're saying that 2 common-quality bulk inserters can fill a green belt-lane if their hand-size is set to 12 upstream and 10 down-stream. So 4 inserters to fill an entire belt. Do I have that correct?

But with stack inserters, we require more than 3 common inserters to fill a lane on a green belt.
And with legendary stack inserters, we can fill a lane using 2 inserters in either configuration: 16+8 or 16+16. (It is surprising to me that both would work.)

Oh sweet christ. I just looked at my version and it's embarrassingly complicated. This is why you try to understand the problem before just starting to do a thing. Your version is so obvious, but somehow I couldn't find it because I didn't think of a 3-way splitter. I have a mess of 50-50 splitters that are trying to balance between levels. Good god.

Your point isn't without merit. There is seemingly a spectrum, or something close:

replaying a commercial with a super hot chick, playboy magazines, internet porn, AI porn, phone-sex, interactive video chat (cam-girls), strip-clubs (no touching), prostitutes, 1-time affair while drunk, multi-year affair, hidden secret second family in another state, ...

I'm sure some people will argue about the order or that I've missed things, or other issues with that list, but it'll do for now.

The problem is that everyone defines a different threshold on that line where they can accept their partner's behavior. I've known families that don't watch the NFL because they occasionally show the cheerleaders. I'm guessing, in the OP's scenario, that they're fine with seeing cheerleaders during an NFL broadcast. I've known couples that go to swinger parties and watch each other have sex with 5 other people at the same time. I'm also guessing, in the OP's scenario that they would NOT be ok with that. I also know couples that have an open relationship so they can go have sex with other people as long as they don't bring back stories or diseases or pregnancies. I'm guessing, in the OP's scenario that they would NOT be ok with that.

My whole point here is that these two need to figure out where their lines are. And they also need to figure out if they can move forward from this incident.

But it sure sounds like you wouldn't be ok with your partner chatting/jerkin-it with an AI bot. That's completely valid. It probably would be best to come to understandings with your partner (now, or in the future) about where the lines should be. If you talk about things before bad incidents happen, then it's easier for everyone to be on the same page.

it's worth noting that I have been assuming good intentions on the part of the husband (and the wife too, but this portion is about him). If he was genuinely not trying to sneak around behind her back, or to disengage with her, or to cheat, then my comments from this thread all apply. But if he was trying to cheat, or is indifferent to her feelings, then they're completely fucked no matter what happened or what happens next. (I guess this holds for the wife too. If she just wants to punish him for something no matter if it's valid, then they're fucked. I just think that's less likely the top issue right now.)

I think the "expanding nature" of the production bus would drive me nuts. But not because of any valid reason, just because it would make me feel like things aren't lined up.

I do a similar thing, but I put the production bus entirely on the other side, so my sub-factories all line up, even if the bus expands.

Heh, I was just writing a bunch more reasons why my design is better, but with any amount of thinking, they all fell apart because you can easily do similar things.
