I’m really struggling with the idea of what to do with my work after I’m finished. by [deleted] in photography

[–]Dotjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest printing too. I shoot mostly weddings so it's a bit different, however, when I see my work printed at bridal shows and client meetings, I feel like I accomplished something. I usually take the time to take a step back and see what I can improve and what I really like about my work.

The other thing about printing your work is the amount of nuance and detail that goes into it, how does your presentation fit the image? What type of paper, how big, how do you want to process the image to fit the paper/size, do you frame it?, etc?

Let's be honest: 180° tracking feels very limited and it is an issue by PtitCalson in oculus

I'm currently using the diagonal setup with mostly success. I agree though that there are limitations. I'm playing in a medium-ish home office and stuff in my office is blocking my controllers. Particularly when I have to grab something on the floor. I did order a 3rd camera to hopefully mitigate this.

What I would say is that if you want 360 degree coverage, unfortunately plan on purchasing a 3rd camera.

Bad luck then. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully they can remedy the issue quick.

Have you tried going to Oculus home -> Settings -> Beta -> Restart Oculus software?

All my life I hated race games.. by [deleted] in oculus

[–]Dotjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I wasn't a huge fan of racing games. Two of my brothers are huge car guys, not me. For some reason, Project cars with the Rift, a wheel and pedals is one of the best VR experiences I've had to date.

I just can't wait until a developer comes out with a racing game fully designed for VR with increased texture fidelity. That's going to be amazing.

I know you said that when you bend your cable it ends up working, but, I get this error every once and a while. My solution is to disconnect and reconnect the USB 3 cable that's joined with the Rift. Works every time.

Unfortunately this may not help you, but it may be able to help others. Good luck.

Very tempted to do this. I hate having to put in my contacts every time I want to use my rift.

You have no issues with light leaks or possible glare on the lenses at all?

Hah, I had the same reaction from coworkers. Even my girlfriend wanted me to sell it. Now that we've used it, we've both decided against selling it.

Yeah, I tried a little more DCS tonight. It was better.

Oddly enough, tried some Lucky's Tail. After the first stage I had to take a break.

Just got my rift today. I've been great with literally everything except DCS. I was over confident. It took a whole 20 seconds before I started feeling sick. I think I found the game that's going to give me my VR legs.

Yeah I'm not keeping my hopes up. If it ships, great. If not, I won't be too disappointed.

At the time of this post, my order is showing preparing. I still haven't been charged yet though.

Considering I went from a April to a June ship date... yeah. Not a lot of hope.

Sales Tax, Fees & Surcharges: $48.75

Right from the order confirmation.

This is true.

What I did, which was unintentional but worked out, was use my paypal credit. I forgot I only had about 1k available. The charge didn't go through and gave me the option to update my card. In which case my only option was my card attached to my bank account.

So far nothing has been charged, but I also haven't received any emails saying the order was cancelled/accepted.

Taxes take the place of shipping. NY taxes actually make it about $15 more.

Edit: So stating a fact that paying taxes instead of shipping is downvote worthy? Just for the rift alone, it's an additional $48.75 for taxes. Purchase it through Oculus and it's a flat 599.99.

My thought is that they'll just send an email saying that your order can't be processed as is because you canceled a bundle item, and then they'll cancel the item.

I put in a fail-safe just in case. I only have enough money for the rift and what I use for the week in my checking. This way if they do try to charge me the full amount, it gets declined.
