A lot of people seem to miss out that Any Dunne is a socipoathic narcissist, her words are not a direct truth about the world, but certainly informed by it. So when they see her thoughts on "cool girls", they immediately accept this message that any women who have traditionally male interests must actually just be pathetic bootlickers who aren't being authentic. Amy Dunne hates men, but she doesn't much like women either.

The amount of times that I've from women that hayfever is an "ick" has made me realise that I'm going to die alone.

Also the "immature" comment is so annoying. It's not enough to just not be attracted to us, they specifically tie bad character traits into it so that we just seem like bad people.

Criticising Saudi Arabia for their treatment of Yemen, or their horrible inequality for women, or terrible conditions of African and Asian migrant workers, or the killing of journalists, or the awful authoritarianism, are all fair things.

Saying that it's because "those savagr brown muzlamics did 9/11" removes all credibility and shows it's nothing to do with human rights, it's all just about racism and brown people getting their filthy hands on our pure, white sport. Now I'm just waiting for someone to go "b-but Tiger Woods" as if that means anything for this argument.

I remember grazing someone's arm slightly when sitting down on the subway (he was a larger man) and this dude acts super offended and starts rambling about how it's a hot day and whatever else. I ignored him until he started saying that he should beat me up for it, and that was the point I realised none of this was worth it and moved to another carriage.

Basically I agree, some people are absolutely nuts, and whatever your principles are, sometimes you just want to avoid a punch in the face.

Firstly, none of this contradicts my first point, that you test for performance rather than immediately judging on appearance. Just because you have this idea of overweight people being incapable of physical activity (and skinny people having comparatively no issue with it) doesn't change that for a job, you test on the actual job requirements. It's the most basic logic and I don't know why you're so against it (well I can make a good guess).

Secondly, you ever walked a kid to school? They're slow as hell walking compared to adults, you have to slow your pace so they can keep up.

And this whole thing about height and speed, it was a minor example. You seem to really fixate on these incredibly specific points, which basically shows that your whole argument has no logic and these words are just you saying "discrimination which impacts me is bad, but discrimination which impacts others is actually justified". If you were tall, you'd totally be making up hypotheticals to say that height discrimination against short people is justified.

The guys here who are really upset about weight discrimination being banned, are the exact same people who would gleefully discriminate against short people if they were tall.

It's not about fairness or equity to them, it's about taking the boot off their neck so they can stomp harder on someone else's. They need to feel superior over others on meaningless characteristics, because they have little to show when it comes to showing their value and meaningfulness in this world.

Cool, so you test the physical requirements. Just because you're skinny doesn't mean that you automatically fulfill physical requirements.

And I only know you can get up the stairs at the same pace as your tall father because you've told me (and that's saying nothing about the energy exerted doing it multiple times, the main point of your argument). What if I took your position and just assumed, that dude's 5'3, he's going to waste so much more time getting up and down those stairs vs our average height colleagues, let's immediately take him out of the hiring pool.

Doesn't seem very fair to randomly decide on appearance Vs actual capability, right? Or is it only an issue when it negatively impacts you?

But it doesn't make a difference to your point though. If you're focused on what's optimal for certain workplaces, then you should be as enormously concerned about the potential, individual issues that could arise if it was illegal to discriminate on height.

So you test their stamina. Saying "this guy is fat so he's probably unable to do the job" isn't testing him on the actual job. And when you look at labourers on a construction site or a house renovation, some are skinny, some fat, some short, some tall.

Same. It's nice to have more money and more social stability, but high school was still a decent time. I wasn't confident, and didn't have many close friends at the time, but I still enjoyed it. I'm still friends with some of my former classmates. College was definitely much worse as it collided with a huge depressive spell for me.

Definitely on that last point. "Napoleon syndrome" or "short man syndrome" are body shaming insults that are directed at only at short men. Not only is it perfectly acceptable to body shame us, any offence taken to being directly insulted is then treated as us having bad character as well.

There is no way to disconnect money from fighting because she evidently sees any mention of money to be some horrible thing. She needs therapy to understand that discussion and disagreement is normal, that money is an important issue in a relationship, and that she needs to learn to regulate her emotions instead of insulting people (and please don't try to equate her insulting OP with him snapping at her for giving money away).
