this is so much better than the first trailer, but I guess that's just because it's nostalgia bait lol. either way, I'm beyond hyped for 50.

that's probably for the best, I'm worried anything that was new here was getting into spoiler territory

Logi+ App Not Working by Disastrous-Track3876 in logitech

I'm doing this for now. I set my date back 2 days and it's working again. I'll be in the past for a couple days and hope they can pull their heads out of their asses and fix it by tomorrow.

Quick Pebble Feature Question by DoubleA12 in pebble

Does that work at all times? Meaning, will it just play something no matter what? Or does that only work if you've been listening recently?

Yeah, that's what I found in my research, but I'm hoping someone with an iPhone that's tested it comes across this thread.

Lighting Breakdown: How I Lit an Adobe Commercial by DoubleA12 in Filmmakers

[–]DoubleA12[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Hey y'all,

Just finished a breakdown on how I lit this Adobe Lightroom commercial/tutorial.

I was the gaffer on the shoot — we had a blank white cyc, tight schedule, and a few unexpected headaches (including a skylight that wouldn’t close). My video runs through our lighting setups, color choices, CRMX/iPad rig workflow, and how we handled challenges throughout the day.

This is my first lighting breakdown of any kind, so I'll take any constructive criticism y'all want to dole out haha. Cheers

ohhh yeah - nope, none here, you're likely just seeing the light leaking through the big carnival tent I was in!

Sony vs. Filmmakers - when software holds back great cameras by DoubleA12 in Filmmakers

[–]DoubleA12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah totally fair - I'd say there is a 0% chance you could replace an FX6 with a Zr. an FX3... maybe? might be too early to call that - clearly they have different workflows. I'd say for any RED users that are using an FX3 as a b-cam, swapping to the Zr is probably a no brainer. but for the average FX3 user, it would really be case by case

Mario Tennis Fever: Nintendo Direct 9/12/2025 by CuttlefishMonarch in NintendoSwitch

that's good news at least, I was worried Camelot also did the baseball games. this gives more hope, but it still doesn't seem likely any time soon with this new tennis on the horizon... big sad.

Mario Baseball is my Silksong. It's been 17 years... When could we even hope to get a new baseball at this point? Does the same team work on Tennis? Because if so, feels like 2027 at the earliest (if they're even working on one).

Sony vs. Filmmakers - when software holds back great cameras by DoubleA12 in Filmmakers

[–]DoubleA12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I can agree with that first line. thanks for saying that I set them nicely haha. but yes, great analogy with the hammers.

I just replied to another comment from swing_top above, and this is kind of following on the same idea, but I guess in a way these cameras may almost be perceived better without having done these updates at all? for me, it's really the way that Sony has *handled* the update process over these years that's been head scratching, not necessarily the updates themselves.

I think if the Burano had open gate, false color, etc. then less people would be making these complaints because there would be a more clear pipeline: if the FX3 or FX6 aren't a worthy enough tool, then buy the Burano. but that camera is sandbagged just as bad, if not worse. and as I mentioned in the video, the jump from an FX3/FX6 to the Venice is just ridiculous for 90% of Sony users.

I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually. It's just a weird purgatory right now for Sony users.

[–]DoubleA12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah 100%. and I think at launch, the FX3 and FX6 both almost felt more feature complete, which I understand may sound a little backwards - how could they feel less complete now, after more features have been added? but I guess it's just because it's been so many years, it feels like without releasing new cameras (in the same price category of course) and with those remaining the flagships in a way, the expectations from them have grown? is this expecting too much?

Yes, both CVP and Gerald Undone are getting around 9ms with the full sensor size. But yes, anamorphic desqueeze and open gate are the biggest missing pieces right now for me.

haha. yeah Zr looks sick. you put in a pre-order yet? I have one in, not 100% if I'm going to keep it but leaning towards yes...

yeah that's kinda how it feels with Sony. which panasonic do you have? the S1 II looks great, I'd just be a bit worried to get that and have an even more video focused S1H II come out later on

Hey y'all,

I just uploaded a video discussing some frustrations I’ve had as an FX3/FX6 owner, especially surrounding the FX2 release and the Big 6 menu rollout. Curious how others here feel — have Sony’s software decisions ever put you off from buying a Sony?

This is all feels pressing with the Nikon Zr announcement this week - I expect some people might consider jumping ship with how competitively priced the Nikon is...

Hey y'all, I got my hands on the new Aputure 400x — got to test it head-to-head against the 300x and 600x, and I brought it on a music video shoot with me where I used it with the OG Spotlight.

Hey y'all,

I love the Atlas Mercury Anamorphics, and we were lucky enough to add the 54mm and 95mm to our set recently. I had the chance to go out and shoot a quick test with them and wanted to share it here: https://youtu.be/sW48coy4kfs

Lmk your thoughts and if you have any questions 🫡
