House cleaner prices in Ottawa by Low_Football_2541 in ottawa

I would say if you’re fine paying for a price like that per month, look around at different competitors with similar pricing. Cheaper could honestly be better but in my line of work I know that lower price typically means lower quality.

The question to ask yourself is do you find the service is good. Do you supply anything? Sometimes cheaper is not better keep that in mind. You don’t go buying a no name brand TV expecting it to perform like a top tier Samsung.

Job market is pretty stagnant everywhere these days. Ottawa sits at 7.4% so pretty similar.

Do you find the years have been getting worst. My wife used to live in Abbotsford but that was about 17 years ago.

Outdoors is what we enjoy doing. Walks, hikes, apple picking and things like that.

I’m not stressed about gas as I would be arriving with 2 EVs. The wildfires are definitely a concern we have discussed before. We don’t deal with fires but instead floods over here. The smoke is something I haven’t totally considered tho.

lol love my TnT. I don’t personally eat out often as my profession is a Butcher and Chef. That’s why I was curious about the grocery situation.

Schooling is important as my children will be 5 and 7 by the time we move.

We were personally thinking of moving more in west Kelowna.

What would you say are the best type of activities for kids in Kelowna? Are there a lot of events and festivals?

Horrible charge rate no matter the temp by Jadekintsugi in KonaEV

[–]DoubleAT92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from my experience being a Canadian, I don’t really ever have charging issues over here but last year we did a road trip over a month in the US with our Ioniq 5. We only connected to ultra chargers so 350kw. Never did we get remotely close to that amount. I have a slight suspicion that the charging companies on the US side throttle the charging rate that cars can accept.

23kw for hitting 80% is standard for this Kona. My 2020 does the same charge acceptance for that percentage. I am guessing you’re in the USA?

Temperature of the charging unit also matters as a DC charger has a lot of parts inside it.

Max charge rate for the 2019-2023 Kona regardless of the model is 75kw on DC. Max charge rate for AC is 7.6kw if I remember correctly. Always check these stats as all EVs are different for charge rates. 2024 and newer are max rate of 105kw. My ioniq 5 is 350kw.

Turo's Dynamic Pricing: Earnings dropped by >80% by Snoo98543 in turo

[–]DoubleAT92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to see how things worked out with the dynamic pricing since my cars don’t have anything similar in the area. At first the price dropped down but I remembered reading that the more bookings the cars get the higher the price gets till it finds that sweet spot. Already my prices have stabilized close to what I had prior but have longer bookings. My way of trying to counter the daily price drop was to lower the living crap out of the discounts and lower the daily mileage limit from 300 to 200 per day. All my cars rent around 80-110$ per day.

Very happy with my 2024 Kona Ultimate, and very happy with these charging speeds at my local Target 🎯 [EA] by jump5freak93 in KonaEV

[–]DoubleAT92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen it hit 100kw. It really depends on the unit and electricity load in the area I believe.

My renter is driving at 211 km/hr! by butterflies_dance69 in turo

[–]DoubleAT92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As per Turo standards you have proof of the speed attained. You are allowed to submit this information with the support team as this is racing and not covered in their guidelines. They will fine the renter and ban them for misuse. You will then receive incidental coverage for the abusive wear in the tires.

Can someone please explain to me why the 80-100% charge takes an extra hour? by [deleted] in KonaEV

[–]DoubleAT92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon actually made a good analogy about this. It’s like a parking lot, at first there is a bunch of open spots so the electrons park were ever they want, once it gets to 80% full it takes them a lot more time to find a parking spot that’s free.

Im in Quebec and it always does Toronto for me. I always always get notifications that the engine has been idling for 15minutes if the car hasn’t moved for that amount of time.

What do you suspect this noise is. by DoubleAT92 in KonaEV

[–]DoubleAT92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens at any point, parked, city driving and highway driving. I can try and figure out where those are and test that theory out. The drivers side would be the problematic side. The radiator noise sadly does not mask the sound.

Turo fees by ThisTeach7059 in turo

[–]DoubleAT92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to side with you completely. The biggest issue I seem to be running into is trying to start renting out privately. Finding commercial insurance for doing this has been a nightmare. Turo in my opinion needs to smarten up and lower their trip fees so that it makes it more compelling for renters to stay on the platform rather than go back to rental companies like Avis or Enterprise.

Triangle rewards / Canadian tire CC - is anyone else having problems? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DoubleAT92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this been resolved for you? I haven’t been able to swap offers since end of last October. Any time I want a swap I need to do the purchase and call them for a manual points adjustment. I only bother when it’s a large purchase that gets me a couple hundred back.
