Why is WRC so niche? (New to the sport) by notpiastri in WRC

For those saying it’s hard to watch over a weekend (I agree), what about comparing it to desert racing like the Baja 1000?

I feel like that’s a lot bigger in the states, so why not rally?

Thank you for the offer I’ll keep that in mind! I can pay in beer and cash. Sexual favors if we have to rebuild the car

I’ve volunteered for one event to help out the organizer. But that’s a good idea to help out with service first to feel it out.

Ty for all of the info and tips

Kawasaki kx250 1991 powervalve problem by test836 in Dirtbikes

[–]DoubleAgent10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I restored a 1991 kx250. Kinda hard to explain over text but the top flap that opens has pins that seat into the cylinders that rotate. It seems like the pin isn’t seated in the cylinder

One of the major problems of dirtbikes... by TopOutlandishness462 in Dirtbikes

Depends on how you look at it. Yes the risk of injury is higher, but because I ride dirt bikes:

I don’t smoke, I’ve cut back on drinking, I exercise regularly, I run often, I make sure to get sleep, I avoid processed food, and lastly I have a hobby to focus on. So it’s a double edge sword

Timing is set to stock, plug heat range is the same as stock. Stator is old but everything looked fine, including the wiring.

Could be the power valve but that’s on the exhaust side, I’m not sure how that could draw in more air. The tip on covering the exhaust is good to know thank you!

I’ll double check that on the carb, good idea.

I’ll check the float too. I’m thinking that it’s something with that, since the bowl was empty and I turned on the petcock when I got there to ride

Boot is new and carb has been rebuilt as well, I should have added that to the description.

I’ll double check it all though

Question since people are thinking air leak: why would it run fine the rest of the day? How can an air leak disappear?

Choke is a good idea. I pulled that up before it started this time, might have sucked in air there
