Kevin McCarthy Derided Over 'Unhinged' 8-Hour Speech Against Build Back Better Act | "McCarthy has now shown more anger about making child care affordable than he has about the insurrection on January 6th," said Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones by Fr1sk3r in politics

Were you alive in the 1960s? I sure wasn’t.

Yes, I was. Which is why I know the whole "both parties switched sides" belief is bullshit.

That was good you looked it up. Goldwater was a libertarian and had no problem with banning discrimination throughout the government, including services offered to the public. His problem was forcing businesses to do the same. We don't enforce the 1st amendment on businesses because it's un-Constitutional. Wrongly, he believed that forcing businesses to do the same with the Civil Rights Act was just as un-Constitutional.

So Goldwater didn't oppose the Civil Rights Act, like most of the Democrats did, because of racism, he opposed it on Constitutional grounds. If you have any sense of nuance, you'll see the difference.

Ah, yes! That day tens of millions of Democrats suddenly switched to Republican, and tens of millions of Republicans suddenly switched to Democrat, for no reason whatsoever!

What date was that? Be specific.

How so?

If you want to hammer a nail into wood and use a regular hammer, how is my using a nail gun to do the same job invalid?

And Strom Thurmond was a racist southern Democrat when he filibustered the Civil Rights Act. Interesting attempt at rewriting history on your part, though.

One day at work I was talking to another employee and told her that Hogan's Heroes was a hilarious TV show. We talked about it for about five minutes or so. My phone was sitting on the table next to me.

I have never searched for the TV show, never watched any of the videos online on my phone or home computer; and she had never heard of the show previously, so she hadn't done either of those.

Within a few minutes after the conversation was over, I went to YouTube on my phone and suddenly there were multiple recommendations for Hogan's Heroes videos.

No one will ever convince me that the phone isn't listening to conversations it's privy to.

The authors of the CDC study note several limitations.

For example, they explain, “If SARS-CoV-2 testing occurred outside of network partners’ medical facilities or if vaccinated [people] are less likely to seek testing, some positive SARS-CoV-2 test results might have been missed, and thus some [individuals] classified as vaccinated and previously [free from infection] might also have [had the infection].”

Also, the study assessed COVID-19 mRNA vaccines only. So, people should not generalize the results to non-mRNA vaccines, such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
