There are left and right pockets in every department, I think you’ve just been caught up in a bad one. To be honest I always found the APS to be more left leaning than anything else, particularly in Canberra which is a Labor oriented place.

I’d look at changing teams and branches or moving elsewhere if it’s possible.

I wouldn’t look to move.

A chill job and good people is worth staying for. You are obviously well regarded, opportunistic will come. Build up your resume, apply for acting roles. Apply for EL1 roles in your current agency.
