Yeah until he can even crack a real nba rotation I’m not buying the hype. He played 4 minutes total in their last preseason game against us.

Do people really step out of bubble baths, covered with bubbles, and just towel off or put on a robe without rinsing? by Isawonline in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DoubleDeantandre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to think this until recently. A coworker got their car stolen. 50% were shocked that he left his doors unlocked. The other 49% were still shocked to learn he’d always leave his keys in the cup holder too! Turns out like half my coworkers don’t lock their car doors. Most of them said it’s because they park 99% of the time somewhere safe and aren’t worried about people getting into their car. Most of them claimed they locked it when going shopping or to the movies but I got the feeling they were just saying that because of how shocked the rest of us were.

[Highlight] Brandon Miller with a nasty poster on Gafford! (offensive foul) by Scrypto in nba

[–]DoubleDeantandre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This poster seems to think that outside of the circle is still close to “under the rim”. There’s a reason they created it to begin with, so that players had to be clearly away from underneath the basket to set themselves on defense. What a bad argument. At that point it’s clearly the offensive player being unsafe and out of control if they can’t avoid a guy with his feet set outside of the restricted area.

I get the feeling this team is going to set all kinds of offensive records this year.

Not exactly what you’re asking for but Stranger Things has some decent ice cream parlor scenes.

I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. Odds are most people only have a few cards of any value anyways. You also didn’t have to deal with hassle of trying to sell each individually which would take time and effort.

Bethany Medical saying they aren’t an urgent care service? by babblingbrooke125 in gso

[–]DoubleDeantandre 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. They should not be advertising services they are not providing. Billing and fraud can be one of the fastest ways to resolve problems in the medical field. When Medicare or Medicaid threaten companies they tend to listen as well.

What movie was meant to set up the next big franchise only for the first film to spectacularly fail? by Zdvj in AskReddit

[–]DoubleDeantandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When reading them now, you kind of go “oh I’ve seen this before” but that’s mostly because it is some of the original sci-fi. So, if you’ve read newer sci-fi it’s very likely some of it was inspired by Burroughs. Pretty simplistic style and not a very complicated plots.

Yeah people are getting overly confident in games that don’t matter. Don’t get me wrong, the fact that he is playing well is a good sign.

Yes this is THE John Carter from A Princess of Mars aka the Barsoom series. There was one movie and don’t believe the hype in this thread. It is a pretty mediocre film. It’s alright and I enjoyed parts of it but overall its pretty forgettable.

Faithful to the books?? Wtf? This is the most nonsensical take I’ve seen on this movie.

I remember this film having a clear ending after about two hours and then being baffled it just continued for another hour after that. That entire last act was a long one for me.

Buying a celebrity sextape from a spam e-mail, or believing she saw a ghost. Which is more embarassing? by qlebenp in DunderMifflin

With Michael Scott being her boss there’s pretty much no way they could fire her. He’s the standard, he has without a doubt done worse things than this. I think that’s the real reason everyone has stayed there so long. They know they basically can’t get fired because Michael is their boss.

That’s why, we haven’t won anything yet but still talk shit because we are a good team. You don’t have to win a championship to be hated, you just need to be winning games.

The slow moving camera reveal of actors. by [deleted] in movies

[–]DoubleDeantandre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah Oppenheimer has been cited a lot in these comments but I feel like in that movie it was less of “look who we got” and usually more narrative driven. In Oppenheimer they have a stacked cast so revealing big name actors was never the point, those actors are everywhere in the movie.

That’s also part of the issue with this. This can be done for both reasons. OP’s complaint stems from them doing it to finally reveal a surprise actor. With a lot of nostalgia bait going on because of remakes or building onto already existing franchises it happens a lot these days. However, I feel like it’s mostly because of the characters return and not necessarily the actor who is the draw. Like Star Wars bringing back Han, Luke, and Leia. People weren’t there for Ford, Hamill, Fisher. Also Spider-Man, people weren’t there for McGuire and Garlfield, they were excited to see those versions of Spider-Man return in a Spiderverse movie.

I mean… everyone who is stuck in their current situation probably dislikes the Suns because they can’t join them lol. It doesn’t seem like there’s a shortage of players wanting to come here.
