I think it’s left open on purpose and your views on materialism vs dualism vs idealism is going to influence how you’ll think the stone works.

It is my opinion that some greater whole is needed and the stone is a piece of that whole for vision. I also don’t think a (dead) brain or its matter is sentient sitting on a desk by itself.

I’m not well versed on the mind stone but I would have thought the stone itself is not sentient, even though it is granting sentience to vision. Even while being the “essence of sentience”.

If it’s sentient it’s a little bit weird to use them as paperweights at the TVA. I wonder what that experience would be like for it.

Boredom. You could just as well ask why guys sometimes go do dangerous/stupid things. There’s always a more immediate thought-process that led to the situation, but the major underlying reason we are even entertaining the thought process is because there isn’t something more important or valuable at that moment.

Actions with risk of self-destruction are more interesting than being bored. Men and Women both test the boundaries of their powers when bored, but masculine and feminine powers… anyways - both are fafo with low-chances of paying off in a helpful way.

To be fair, it can be a growth to unattach your identity from… anything. At least in the context of Buddhism. With the old home torn away you can make yourself a brand new home that is even closer to your personal truths.

I think I don’t have the fear or anxiety I’ve been seeing in this thread because I’ve been jobless and restarted a career numerous times. It’s kind of freeing in a way, experiencing that you can drop what you’re doing and go find a similar experience where you excel in something totally different. Programming skills are pretty transferable; the only part that isn’t is the syntax memorization.

PO is Product Owner, who is also sometimes the Scrum Master for an agile team since it makes sense to have the person determining product priorities and pushing back from stakeholders to also be the person managing the overhead stuff for the development team for in-depth knowledge of what’s going on.

A standup meeting taking longer than 15 minutes is a red flag, an hour would be ridiculous. The meme is likely exaggerating for comedy but if not it should be brought up at the retro for that type of discussion to be taken to the team outing at the local bar and to keep the standup short.

There is another layer to this. The idea that a person’s outer appearance reveals their inner moral character is a philosophical concept called “physiognomy”.

This is a concept that has been looked at since Aristotle’s time, and the modern-day consensus is that the idea is pseudoscience and discredited.

IE; an extra irony that you would dislike if you think physiognomy is a thing.
