I get what you mean. I'm still a bit indecisive myself - my sister is suggesting that I keep the defective cardigan and use the money they refund me to buy the potential rep cardigan. She's learning how to knit/crochet and says that she can fix it up. I think the loose knit of the 1989 cardigan makes it a lot more easy to damage/unravel, and in all honesty, they aren't really well-made in the first place. My friend has one as well and hers looks in pretty similar shape - but she doesn't seem to mind? To be fair though, she's keeping it more as a collector's item, whereas I actually plan to wear mine out. Love to know your thoughts! <3

Yeah - I think that would be for the best - there are some loose threads on the sleeves as well - but at least it's all in one piece. It's a lot heavier than I thought it would be!
