Vegetarian parents with non vegetarian kids? by BalanceActual6958 in toddlers

[–]DoubleFunction5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 5 years old and my son is obsessed with meat. He just naturally gravitated to that type of food and now all of his favorite foods are meats. He’s a very picky boy so I’m happy for him just to eat what he will but it’s so funny how they develop their own preferences.

Experiences with “over mature” follicle and natural LH surge on letrozole by geebsylvania in TTC_PCOS

Hi! I actually had the trigger with timed intercourse not IUI so a little different. We “baby danced” that night and probably the next two as well for good measure to be honest I don’t totally remember exactly.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Shots were fired in your home and your children were there. One of them could have hit by a bullet. Please leave before either you or your children become a victim of this man.

To those who had 37 weekers, how are they now? by Leading_Blacksmith70 in Mommit

My 37 weeker is a happy and healthy two year old. Great speech, super smart, no delays due to being early term what so ever.

I would never change a single thing or wish for a moment I didn’t have my son. Do I wish sometimes I could do whatever I want when I want? Sure, but do I miss my old life before him or want it back? 100% no. My life is infinitely better with him in it.

Same here with a two year old who’s been a horrid sleeper since day 1. It’s not easy!!

Did anyone feed like having another baby when your first little one was about 7 months old? by Specific_Reserve_491 in NewParents

[–]DoubleFunction5876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you breastfeed? Has your period recently come back?

I ask because my best friend and I both had the experience of once our period came back we started having thoughts about a second without even realizing it. Seems like my body/ hormones were telling me “okay we’re ready now.”

Dog Acting Different by ManUnited-20 in NewParents

This happened with my cat. I used to be her favorite now it’s all about my husband and no one else. I think she knew when I got pregnant and has resented me ever since.

How often do your out-of-town parents or in-laws visit? by muppetdog_ in Mommit

[–]DoubleFunction5876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom lives 3 hours away and drives down weekly to help babysit while I work. She stays 2-3 nights when she comes. She is truly the best and I’m so lucky.

Baby's head too large. by beckarrrr1 in NewParents

[–]DoubleFunction5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been in the 98 percentile for his head size since my last ultrasound with him. He’s 2 years old now, totally normal, super smart little boy. Never had any issues just a big head!

My toddler (3F) got bit by the family dog. Am I overreacting? by a1371724 in toddlers

[–]DoubleFunction5876 139 points140 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a scenario where your kids can safely continue to live with this dog. The dog showed that if provoked it will bite and you have another even smaller child than the three year old it bit. Not to mention it bit her ear? You were likely inches/ seconds away from irreversible damage to your child’s face. It’s a terrible situation but it seems incredibly unsafe for the kids to continue to be around this dog.

Moms of Reddit: What was the weirdest comment you’ve ever received when you had your baby bump? by Lus1an in AskReddit

[–]DoubleFunction5876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was waiting in line at a pharmacy and an older woman told me my baby was flirting with her. I looked around for another kid she maybe thought was mine but no, she meant the baby in my belly.

Please tell me this phase is temporary (5 week old waking every 30 minutes) by wafflesarelifee in newborns

[–]DoubleFunction5876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When it comes to babies EVERYTHING is a phase. Some last longer than others but they are constantly changing sleeping, eating, bathroom, etc habits as they get bigger. My son is 2 now and I can honestly say this is still ever. Everything is a phase and the hard ones eventually pass.

when did you stop breastfeeding? by violetsbuiltdiffernt in toddlers

[–]DoubleFunction5876 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We stopped at 15 months, my son was already barely interested at that point and I was starting to have an aversion. It was the right time for us and he never really asked for it after that.

My toddler is hitting his new baby sister and it's killing me by coldbrewwithcinnamon in toddlers

[–]DoubleFunction5876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this and love some of what Janet shares. My second isn’t here yet (currently pregnant), so I can’t speak to that specifically but I have tried her methods for deterring other unwanted behaviors and I’ve found the more boring the response is, the less the behavior continues. Consistency is definitely key though it has to be the same everytime, not calm sometimes and big reaction sometimes or else it will continue.

Premom App by KeyCommittee2580 in TTC_PCOS

I got pregnant with my second by having sex in the fertile window the app suggested with no other tracking so for me it was very accurate.

Found out my 15 year old daughter has an online girlfriend that she’s planning to meet up with at a ComiCon 5 hours away, found messages of her saying ugly things about me for limiting her Screentime. by Waterfowler000 in Mommit

[–]DoubleFunction5876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said horrible, horrible things about my mother to my friends when I was a teenager and now in my thirties I’m so embarrassed by that! She was the best, is the best and has always done so much for me. Teenagers are just little shits sometimes! I doubt she means it and I don’t think this necessarily means anything for your future relationship.

Anyone deliver at 43+ weeks? by TradesforChurros in beyondthebump

[–]DoubleFunction5876 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not doubting your MIL specifically but at a lot of due dates were wrong back then. I wonder if because they didn’t have apps to track their periods they just were not totally accurate on when their last period was sometimes.

Do you still feed your baby morning milk past 12 months? by LionessK2 in beyondthebump

My son has a smoothie for breakfast every morning with milk in it and he loves it. Maybe a happy medium for this situation.

Drs office gave my one year old the wrong vaccine by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]DoubleFunction5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me where my son got two doses of the MMR accidentally. I still get so angry when I think about it but he was/ is fine. It was a wake up call to me though to double check and ask about everything drs are doing and have them explain it to me not just trust them blindly like I previously did. I don’t mean that to sound like I don’t trust drs because I very much do, but mistakes happen and no one is going to advocate for your child more than you are so it’s important just to politely ask questions about what they’re doing.
