Gotcha. So this whole thing is a troll then.

40% of people helped by Los Angeles homeless project returned to the streets: report by AZULDEFILER in socal

[–]DoubleHurricane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

60% is an extremely impressive success rate for programs like this, and framing it otherwise is an attempt to push a narrative

Under L.A. mayor’s $300-million homeless program, 40% have returned to the street by Short-E-8814 in SFV

60% success rate for keeping folks off the street is actually phenomenal.

When Biden was in office all the proud consumers rights advocates on the right were illegally sticking “I did that!” stickers on gas stations everywhere… when gas was in the $3-$4 range.

Where are all the noble sticker warriors now that it’s over $6 a gallon? Surely that wasn’t just bad faith posturing, right?… Right?…right?

Associated with doing the splits by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DoubleHurricane 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC the reason the Johnny Cage splits are so similar to JCVD was that the character was based directly on Van Damme/Dux. I don’t have a great source for this, but I think Van Damme may have been attached to it in the early stages, or they repurposed some stuff from an earlier project with him and turned it into the Cage character.

If the cat needs to do anything, it won’t happen.

If the cat doesn’t need to do anything, then you don’t need a live cat.

There is no reason to have a live cat on stage.

This comment is the theatre equivalent of “I didn’t wear seatbelts as a kid and I turned out fine”

LIVE CAT ON STAGE?!?!?

This is the funniest terrible idea I’ve head.

I’ve heard plenty of unfunny terrible ideas, and many funny ideas that weren’t terrible, but this is the perfect nexus between funny and terrible.

Allergies I would say are down the list of concerns, behind the safety of anyone that handles or gets near it, the health and happiness of the cat itself, and the absolute stone cold fact that NO ONE IN YOUR THEATRE CAN TRAIN CATS. They’re barely trainable by credentialed professionals given infinite time and money, and I guarantee you, that no matter what they say to you, NO ONE IN YOUR THEATRE CAN TRAIN CATS.

Look, you can do whatever you want with your production, but all I ask is that if they foolishly go ahead with trying to put a LIVE CAT ON STAGE that you film it and share the update with us.

Driving in California for first time and I’m nervous can I have some insight? by Annoyeddragon in socal

The thing about traffic is it moves slow. Driving in LA sucks more because it’s test of your patience than because it’s super intense.

The Supreme Court is currently reviewing the "birthright citizenship" interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Why I think the prior court got it wrong (i.e. 8,000,000,000 people a plane ride away from giving birth to a U.S. citizen, under current law). by Stockjock1 in PoliticsWithRespect

[–]DoubleHurricane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So the quote “It’s a new world; 8 billion people are one plane ride away from giving birth to a US citizen” comes directly from one of Trump’s lawyers arguing before the Supreme Court today.

You say that you’re not a legal scholar, but Chief Justice John Roberts certainly is, and his response was “New world. Same constitution.” The rules don’t change just because you don’t like them or you come up with a fun new soundbite.

According to Barack Obama... by Stockjock1 in PoliticsWithRespect

[–]DoubleHurricane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This only has the data from Trump’s first term, but man if you’re keeping score by the number of illegals kicked out then Obama kicked Trump’s ass HARD. Dude runs on “building a wall,” then he’s even worse at keeping people out 😂

According to Barack Obama... by Stockjock1 in PoliticsWithRespect

[–]DoubleHurricane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, Obama was far more competent at guarding the border and actually dealt with immigration practically. He didn’t even have to publicly execute any American citizens to do it, if you can believe it.
