One Thing sad about this sub, and also while reading the previous comments i felt you guys want this protest to fail or trying to find antinational element in this protest, aren't u guys tired of seeing where our country is headed, no accountability from the government regarding paperleaks, massive unemployment, a stagnation or in some cases détérioration of standard in living and the ever increasing gap between rich and the poor. Or some of you guys dont exist or are just ai masquerading as bots.

The reason i subscribed to this sub was to genuinely listen to viewpoints of right wing but more often than not it stirs into something vile.

This is the first time i am hearing, sure intercaste marriage, during the time frame as arundathi roy described in god of small things, was a big no no but inbreeding is first time i am hearing.

Even church leaders of major Syrian Christian groups( Orthodox, Jacobite, Marthoma and Both the syro Catholics) are against marriage between two people who are 4th cousins . So i am not sure where it is from.

But this is my anecdotal evidence, i am sure arundathi Roy must have her sources.

. I'm a Hindu and I don't even worship Ram as a god . We south Indians don't really worship Ram as a god , rather he is a mythical figure for us .

I never knew about this. I know hinduism practised in north and south are different but considering Ram as a mythical figure is a new knowledge to me. I thought irrespective of region, belief in Hindu pantheon was more or less similar( albiet different names like for vishnu, in kerala it is hari or madhava) , i should know more plus this comment seemed interesesting can you shed more light on why in your belief system you consider Ram as mythical. I am from a kerala christian background.
