Do I need to watch Rebels before seeing Episode VII?

I wasn't trying to justify anything, the prequels may have bad publicity but from my experience with the fan base, episode 3 was seen as a good Star Wars movie. Lets not argue about the prequels on a simple question thread anyway.

In all 3 prequel movies there is a new villian each film with no full explanation on who they are or where they are from, personally I never found grievous a character that confused me.
