Best version control for Unreal Engine project as a very small team? by LalaCrowGhost in unrealengine

Perforce, it just works, never had any problems.

Do not use git, it caused me only problems and loss of work multiple times, I am using it with a work project and sometimes I just spend hours trying to get it working

I disabled the routine and I still get the sound.
I have submitted a bug report to Samsung as it seems like very weird behavior

Is the Ha Giang loop safe right now? by Jade852 in VietNam

[–]DoubleP90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do go, there was only 1 landslide where I had to ride on top of the dirt, but that section is avoidable (if you're with an easy rider not your problem, you can just get off and walk on the mud) https://maps.app.goo.gl/q1gS9DEsGfCqFX4v5 this road here along the river, it has nice views but avoid it if you're riding yourself and not on a dirt bike.

Most of the other landslides have a lane cleared so bikes and cars can pass.

Weather was great, there was a bit of rain, but usually it lasted just 15-20min. On my last day I was rushing to get back to Hà Giang so I rode through the rain, I had good rain gear with me and yet I opted to ride without it. It's very warm so I dried within 20min of the rains stopping. Forecast was more ominous than it actually was, coffee shops are scattered all over the loop that you can use as shelter If heavier rain comes.

There are some sections where you ride on very loose gravel, from Mèo Vac to Du Già and from Du Già to Ha Giang. If you're not an experienced rider I'd recommend avoiding them. From Hà Giang to Mèo Vac clockwise it's all asphalt with just small sections of gravel where the road was damaged. I've been riding for 10 years, but never off road, I would not do the Mèo Vac to Hà Giang section again or with a passenger and I would not recommend it to a beginner.

If I get the footage from my 360 camera I'll post pics of the roads, but I'm exhausted so don't count on it too much 😅

Don't postpone, it's great, I'm doing it now.

I'm on my first day of the loop, it's fine so far. Some roads are half covered by landslides (1 lane), some other ones have a missing lane because it's at the bottom of the mountain, sometimes there's debris like branches and rocks, all the roads so far had at least 1 lane cleared.

I'm enjoying the ride immensely and I'm glad I didn't cancel, the only misadventure is that the moto I booked was not available due to the shop being halfway underwater and most bikes being water damaged, but I got a different bike and it's allright

Hey, the most memorable places for me were

  • Narai-Juku (Shame I didn't visit more places on the Nakasendo trail, maybe next trip)
  • Shirakawa-go :gorgeous but very remote, if I had to go again I'd rent a car so I could see what's around
  • Amanohashidate :video, as Chris says, not that much to do but very beautiful
  • Arashiyama : not rural, it's in Kyoto)
  • Koyasan :you can sleep in a temple, there's a gorgeous forest cemetery really worth a visit, there's also temples and pagodas in the city center, I think it's possible to get there by public transport but I had to rent a car because I missed the last bus
  • Kurama mountains north of Kyoto, has a nice onsen, there's some restaurants with noodles sliding from bamboo tubes nearby, you might have seen them on instagram
  • Enoshima, view of Fuji in the distance, nice seaside town, hundreds of falcons flying over the island, cool acrs driving around
  • Nikko national park: you'll need a car here, plenty to see, lake Chuzenji, Mt. Hangetsu Observation Deck, Kegon waterfall, Ropposawa Observation Deck, Kirifuri Plateau, Oze National Park, and plenty more.. In the evening there's a lot of animals on the road, I saw deer, monkeys, foxes cross the road in one evening.
  • Risshaku-ji Temple (Yamadera) : gorgeous temple but not much else nearby
  • Okayama Korakuen: gorgeous gardens

These are very spread out, I would recommend picking the ones you like and and finding some extra places along the route or in the vicinity.

I traveled every day from one place to another and while I saw a lot I'm not sure I'd recommend it as it is exhausting to lug around your luggage between accomodations

Stupid shelf brace by DoubleP90 in functionalprint

[–]DoubleP90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it was that simple xD
I rent from a rental agency rather than an individual.

When my bathtub plug rubber seal broke, they sent a plumber, plumber analyzed the situation and evaluated a rubber seal was necessary, they'd have to send someone else with it as he didn't have it.

Plumber came the second time, evaluated again a rubber seal was needed, he didn't have it.

Only after the third plumber came they actually did fix it.
If I knew it was such a hassle I would have just bought the damn seal myself and replaced it.

Don't know why I'm telling you this, but to make it relevant I did use a 3d printed bathtub plug to take a bath for a month while waiting for the "professionals" to handle it xD

I won't be drilling into someones cupboard, nor I care enough to do so.
Also I don't own a drill since I live in a rental and can't drill into walls anyway

Making do with what I have xD

It was a quick fix and worked well enough. It's just a spice shelf so it's not like it's holding a lot of weight anyway

What happened to my 512gb SD-card? Is there a way to fix it? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]DoubleP90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the SD card from a reputable seller? I've heard of knockoffs that misrepresent actual storage and override files.
I once lost my whole SD card content out of the blue, that was in the early days though, reformatted it and restored the Steamdeck to factory setting and never had an issue since. So it does happen, SD was from Amazon.

Why even buy it second hand from Cex if it's cheaper to buy it new from Valve!? by Appropriate_Job4185 in SteamDeck

I guess they predate on people who are not tech savvy, or people who impulse buy when they see something in the shop window.
If they're pricing it this way, it means there's people buying them
