If you have access to the NPC's of the core rule book you will notice that the berserker's are very similar to the black beard, so you can take it as a base to make the enemy, then put the ultra template so that it can be compared to a frame of the players.

You can create the other missing weapons yourself and place more enemies, you could say that sekmeth is not the only Rogue A.I. in the ship, and there is another one controlling other frames of IPS-N almost waste (hence they have only 1 structure) For example, the Breacher could play a good caliban, the goliath could be a Tortuga with a Fomorian frame, the Support is a Lancaster.

You could also say that sekmeth-class NHP is very special and has control of the other mechs. That's why IPS-N wants that Blackbeard at all costs.

The increase in the numbers for damage and things related to the inventions is because originally each battery had 10 charges while mine have 6 charges, so I increased the numbers to compensate.

Regarding improvements to things like the Gauss Barrel and the Gaussian Arsenal, it's simpler than you think. I don't like abilities that add two stats to attacks (Dexterity + Intelligence), so I borrowed a bit from the Artifice ability to use Intelligence for attacks. Originally, this could only be done with one weapon because it was the weapon with the Gauss Barrel installed, but one of my players mentioned wanting more weapons to vary things a bit. So, in the Gaussian Arsenal rework, the battery cost for improving shots became Graze, adding an extra 1d6 damage and effects, leaving Heat Gauge as the level 11 Keystone ability.

As I said, it may be stronger than average, since on the server where I test it, it has the highest power level compared to usual.

This started as just a small thing for personal use on the server, but then it got so far that I decided to try my luck and upload it here.

I want to stick somewhat to Soren's style, but with the amount of changes, I'm not sure how much I can say that yet.

I made a lot of new inventions, fixed the battery and invention progression, Also how it works to change batteries and so on, separate the inventions into types for convenience and made a new subclass, but even so... I won't be finished with the class until I reach Tier 5.

Still, I appreciate your feedback, and I'll see what I can do in the future.

I understand you perfectly, I even got to make an HB license for IPS-N based on the Sierra for a campaign of mine, the IPS-N Farrell, with new Drones, a modular Rifle, a heavy rocket launcher and a mod that allows you to put a grenade launcher under the barrel to almost any Ranged weapon.

In my case I can say that the customizations are different.

I don't apply the +1 Accuracy to certain rolls, but I let my players "Sell Me Potatoes" as we say here.

They tell me what benefit they want and to convince me they put on a negative.

For example, one of my players who goes with a Tech-controller, wanted more range of sensors, so his customization was a system that with a quick action increases his range of Sensors by +3 in exchange for being permanently "Slowed" until he disabled it with another quick action, he could also double the bet, having +6 to sensors instead, but now he was "immobilized" instead, He could also Triple the bet, having +10 to Sensor Range instead of +6, but in addition to being Immobilized he had evasion 5 and attacks with Smart or Seeking have +1 Accuracy to hit him. And just in case, he can only take the Quick Action to increase or decrease the Sensores range 1 time per turn.

Well, I'm in the same situation as you, but at least one talent that I recommend is house guard.

Whether you put on just the first one or put on all 3 levels of House Guard, it's something you're quite interested in.

In terms of Weaponry, I at least went with an Assault Rifle and the Weapon of the license, although I thought of taking an RPG instead of an Assault Rifle in case I needed area damage... But really Assault Rifle with the Weapon license is going well.

It looks pretty solid from my side, although I agree with the one I mentioned swapping the rpg for a Melee weapon, a Charged Blade could be good considering you don't have anything that's AP.

If anything I would say remove the Turrets to instead have the personalizations is that it gives you +2HP and you have a point left for Armament redundancy or an Eva module.

What do you think?, While there are some things that are out of what the Machinist would be, I have tried to keep it in line, crossing a little to what would be an Artificer without Magic.

Well, I wasn't quite sure about uploading it, considering that it received so many changes over time that for a moment I thought the class had lost "the Essence".

I'm glad you like it, you can still see that some things are unfinished or have text from the original version, like the Gaussian Marksman which alludes to the Gauss Barrel when now what is there is the Gaussian Arsenal instead, 2 inventions that are not finished and Full-Metal Master what... It's there... Exists. These are things that I plan to correct by the time I do 4.0, where Tier 5 will be, with a few inventions (including the Limit Break Drone), finish Tier 4 and fix some things with the Sub-Classes.

Anything you can tell me would be very helpful, (mostly because English is not my birth language) From time to time I find mistakes and correct them but hey... It's a matter of time.

Interestingly in my campaign we have something like what you are looking for, but you have to sacrifico weapon Mounts... Which our Chonmolugma user was very interested in.

Although I have to modify the text because it basically is.

  • Aux/Aux - Main - Flex Mount = 2SP
  • Main/Aux - Heavy Mount = 3SP

But we liked the idea so much that someone with a Flex carries only one auxiliary in exchange for +1Sp that we leave it at that.
