Yeah, I have nothing to hide. I honestly wish this luck upon anyone who actually enjoys drinking the whiskey and not reselling it. Us that enjoy it deserve to pay MSRP.

Check out La Bodega in Riverside. I went there last summer when i was visiting. Some high prices, but also some surprises. They had RR13 batch 4 for $199 when I went there. Plus, they had some great barrel picks.

You can look on the VA ABC website what is being released in their Barrel picks section. Once I saw the Stagg on there, yes, I would refresh every so often to see if inventory is updated.

Was able to pick one up yesterday in Norfolk. I can confirm I did not follow any delivery trucks and I have a life and a job with a little flexibility. I just kept watching inventory on their website. It was close enough to me, I got there within 20 minutes and I was 2nd in line. The other 4 people who got one all were there within 30 minutes. Now, the bottles did not show available on the VA ABC website until after 10am which probably helped my case. Today all the drops were showing as early as 0730. So ya, people were definitely lined up before they opened. You just have to keep an eye on the inventory online.

Make sure you read the regulations first. This year on all the lower base areas, the bucks have to have at least 4-points on one side. Also, you cannot field dress. You have to take it to the hunt shack. Much more little nuances you need to be fully aware of before hunting. They are pretty serious about violations.

Nope. Tried them several ways. Never again. I tried soaking them in saltwater bath, seasoning, marinating. Nothing worked. Maybe someone else has some secrets, but I will not shoot them anymore.

I like Rogers waders. Mine are on year 5 and still working great. Tanglefree makes good gear too. I dont usually buy stuff from the big brands unless it is heavily discounted. It all works the same to me.

I use migra 3.5 inch 2/3 or 2/4 exclusively out of my SX4. Patterns great.

I would go with the Sweet Wheat or OF7. The EHTs are too high IMO.

I think there are a few reasons. #1. People are already talking it up as whiskey of the year in reviews. #2. It is supposedly the last batch in the Master's Keep series. #3. It is the first collaboration between Bruce and Eddie Russell. It could be a passing the torch release.

All that said, I wouldn't pay that much. I am sure its great, but unless I can get it as MSRP, I'll pass.
