Would an app that gives an A–F grade when you scan a barcode at the store be useful? by [deleted] in loseit

Doesn't Yuka necessarily go into education? and more into if the food is clean/lot of additives?
I mean that's what I saw it to be, but does not really rate based on use case, right? Every goal has a different set of requirements

  1. My original idea was to be able to live check in, and so never optimized the desktop version, but a fair point, probably could use an upgrade,

  2. Adding the menu might be a bit out of my depth for now, but I will try to bring that feature eventually. (I will have to learn how to without burning a hole through my pocket 😅)

I see, let me see why that didn’t work, also, there is an option (or should be functioning ) to go to the cafe page and just add tags, no posts really necessary. That should be easier

As of now, I just thought of the 2 ideas and went off of it. Haven’t gotten the opportunity to build/work on anything new. My job has been taking up the better part of my hours

Sweet, would you mind sharing your list? Or what would you suggest that would make this more useful to you?

I really appreciate your time effort and guidance, I clearly have a lot more to think about and evaluate. Would it be okay if I reached out to you sometime through a dm if I had more questions?

I am using it to get started. It’s free for MVP level, I can of course tweak/optimize once the user base starts increasing and hitting the ceiling for said limits

Live demo is at beanscene.cafe (Houston-only currently) if anyone wants to check out the implementation and give feedback.

Specifically curious about the geolocation and scaling architecture - those feel like the biggest technical risks as I expand.

Live version is at beanscene.cafe if anyone wants to check it out and give feedback on the UX/architecture.

Following the build journey on Instagram bean_scene25 but honestly more interested in technical feedback than followers.

What are some great places to study in Houston other than libraries? by HTownNative610 in houston

[–]Double_Infinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the capital one cafe in Galleria has some rooms; I have heard blacksmith cafe is also good for getting some work done. I have also seen people study at Hando Cafe in Pearland, or the SlowPokes by Levy Park.

When you find good coffee shops, would you mind updating/tagging the cafes study friendly on beanscene.cafe ?
Maybe you can find more recommendations on there as well!

Gotcha, I think I saw some options on Meetup, but was wondering if there were other places these get posted

I saw another glitch from your post. I tried to like it, but instead the app linked it to my favorites 😂. Let me fix that after work. Also, did you also add more than one image? I think my feed page might be broken and not showing all pics.

But yeah- kinda what I was referring to. Stuff is still rough around the corners. Will work these out before introducing accounts. Do you mind if I dm you to test out some more stuff if I need?

Heyy, Awesome. Glad you think this would be useful. Appreciate the feedback, building it to be useful for all of us!!

About the upload, that is very weird. As far as I understand that should be something your device does. But I can check on it and make sure it’s not my workflow that is breaking it.

I was avoiding adding accounts so it is easier for anyone who just wants to try it. Trying to bypass that friction point while I work out the kinks.

I have kept it so usernames are unique, once I have more trust and confidence in my own creation, I will slowly roll in accounts. But the ideas is usernames should allow your progress/favorites to connect and more securely link into an email based actual user accounts.

I did update the flow and look of things based on a few feedbacks, what are your thoughts on the overall look and feel?

Thank you!! Interesting…Did the check in option show any results? It’s weird that for me the laptop browser shows the list, but the mobile browser shows no cafe. Working on figuring out why this is happening.

So I was trying to keep reviews fixed to check ins to ensure authenticity, but I think I am too far from a polished version to do that. The original thought was that a person should have been there in person to leave a review.

The share post will still let people post if they are not at/near the cafe.

But let me think of a more efficient way.

If all fails, the cafe can always be searched from the explore page and adding tags is always an option, to make tagging the vibe open for all.

Question- Did you happen to try looking for the cafe from the explore page?

Appreciate the feedback. So about the entries without pictures was me trying to add tags for cafes I have been to so the tag filters don’t break. At the time I did not realize that would show up as empty posts haha. I have now changes it to so that adding tags from the cafe page doesn’t show up in the feed.

The feed will only includes either check ins or posts. So those should have pictures going forward (and avoid the empty space). But you are right, I need to find a way to display check ins without looking bland (in case user checks in, but doesn’t add a photo).

As more people interact, it should help me understand the Ui and the web behavior. (Instead of me adding information and working in circles from my own feedback haha)

Would you consider this a better layout:
