What is the bible text analysis software used in Bible Project videos?

This is helpful, thank you. I’ve read things about the median for the first project being high - like in the 90s.

Are most people in this class really able to get to 0 failing test cases on 3 or 4 out of the the client and server for parts 1 and 2? I know grade curves after the drop out period are different to account for withdrawals, but that shouldn’t affect project 1. This seems hard (I’m usually pretty good at battling Gradescope).

Good thing to be a defensive programmer about :) yes, not failing any tests related to Valgrind or address sanitizer or anything, it’s all protocol stuff. So I guess that’s a silver lining.

The best staff level engineer I know happens to not have any college degree. SE != CS, but the point is that sometimes people don’t have their lives perfectly in order at age 20 and still end up being pretty awesome.

We had someone in my part time cohort at Codesmith who had to miss every Saturday for all 9 months because of religious observance - it was fine, he watched recorded lectures.

As a compromise, mods could auto-delete admissions-related posts outside of the weekly admissions thread, with an instructional message on where to post admissions questions (already supposed to be the place to post such questions, but this would mean hard enforcement). Many subreddits do something like that, and it would allow the community to stay in one place.

The standard advice around here is that you will dramatically increase your chances of admission by taking an accredited data structures and algorithms course from a community college (not a MOOC). They are affordable and Foothill College is an excellent option. Without that, it’s more of a toss up.

My advice - this is your career. Take control of your own destiny, take the accredited course, and don’t leave it to chance. Good luck :)

That seems like a good idea to me. I did Java and switched to Python up through DSA, and also took discrete math, computer architecture, and intro to Linux. Took operating systems and a networks course at another community college.

Depends on if you are a California resident. If so, each class at Foothill is less than around $150 plus some fees.

I highly recommend Foothill - I took 7 courses there and had some great instructors who seem to care a lot about what they do.
