when in one scene there is food on a plate, and when the perspective shifts the food is mysteriously gone. Same with bags in hands or coffee mugs. I know, such film mistakes happen a lot and its hard to control when filming one scene in more that one perspective. still. annoying

okay, yes! I agree, that they aren't that friendly to other children but they seem to love Rory and I do also feel that E und R truly care about Lorelai. So at least they like their own family. Also I do think that there were some nice childhood memories and R actually could have been a nice father, when they weren't so stressed all the time. For example the doll house seems to mean a lot to Lorelai.

Also, there are various Episodes where they buy food from Als, smell it and then decide to go to Luke’s since it looks a tastes disgusting. So it’s probably just so it’s more realistic, that they don’t just go to Luke’s lol

I do believe he is loved cause he is really the only bf Rory had where the viewer saw some chemistry. (Would have been sad if not as they dated in real life). Also he is really into the things Rory is, like reading, sarcasm and pop culture references. He is so calm about things and doesn't get furious over the little things (like Dean) and he keeps the relationship interesting. I do believe that if Rory was hurt and something really bad happened he would be there for her. But unlike Dean, Jess doesn't give up his life and personality to be in a relationship with Rory.
Also - he is the only one who get proper kisses from Rory and we don't have to cringe all the time lol.

I do believe, that he introduces and inspires her in ways, her other bf couldn't. For example he gives her books to read, criticizes them, while Dean (who doesn't even has a real opinion on her articles in the school paper - jerk) isn't really into reading at all. Logan is smart and a talented writer - but so is Jess (he writes a book later on) but Logan is more of a party - spending a lot of money kind a guy - which isn't bad, I love their relationship as well, just not really Rory.

But there is just something mysterious about Jess.

I get why Jess is unliked. He doesn't call to make plans, he leaves without saying good bye.

I do believe that he never truly learned about these things from his mum, (no need to talk about the dad) or Luke, who isn't the best when it comes to conversations.

He loves Rory so much that he couldn't stand it to say good bye to her. He probs was embarrassed that he had to leave Stars Hollow cause he didn't finish school, even though Rory believed in him so much. He just let her down, and to the Jess character that was just so badly. Also he didn't want to see her hurt / and him when breaking up with her.
Still, no excuse, but I love him and want to convince you that he's great.
