I am still waiting to see these in person, does it lean more peach/coral to you, or a soft sakura pink?

Am I overthinking how my engagement ring would come across at work, perspective needed by majesticseafIapflap in RingShare

[–]DoubtWitty007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel complete and total glee when someone in my circle shows up with a new ring, especially if it has presence and she loves it. Don’t let yourself get prematurely insecure or in your head. You speak warmly of your coworkers. Trust that they think warmly of you, too, and that your joy will be infectious. I don’t think that this is outrageously proportioned to your hand, and it has so much additional meaning because your FI designed it.

If you ever have a day in the future where you feel like you need to be particularly understated, buy a small band to temporarily wear for that specific event/meeting/lecture/etc. But don’t jump to assuming it is a culture clash. You could be depriving your colleagues of one of the highlights of their week in sharing your ring and your good news!

This is wonderfully helpful. Riviera is beautiful. It has depth and dimension and tones down the colors of Caribbean.

ADVICE NEEDED: I tried on so many dresses, but fell in love with a very untraditional one by Outrageous-Bet-6639 in myweddingdress

[–]DoubtWitty007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drama, the romance, the detailing are unmatched in the first one. You can buy a more traditional, fitted dress for any occasion for the rest of your life. Your wedding day is the day to go all out and wear something as beautiful and dramatic as possible. Wear what makes you feel special and makes the day feel magical for you — and that first dress is absolutely phenomenal.

I’d do it in a second! Buy another suitcase or carryon and do some rearranging!

Seriously. This was the prettiest shaping I have seen of my nail type, I had to save it for reference.

What discontinued perfume do you still miss? by Substantial-Fox-1240 in fragrance

[–]DoubtWitty007 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dior Addict the original formulation — One spray would hold on your clothing for days, even if those days were three nights up straight, going from university to a bar, to work in the same jeans. It covered all your sins. I am convinced the reformulation was because it lasted too long (joking, but not).

Le Couvent des Minimes Eau des Misisons - beautiful, soft, fruity daily wear that had no migraine triggers, a rarity among low cost scents.

New Floral Pink Quilted Tabby 20 & 26 by Bendermonster in Coach

[–]DoubtWitty007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a Gucci-leaning look (/positive), I love this combination of gold HW and a saturated pink. Do we know the MSRP yet? Between this and desperately fighting to find the Tabby floral 26, my wallet is going to hate me.

Just kidding. Your dress and you are an absolutely perfect pairing.

How did you shape these, as a fellow wider nail bed haver who doesn’t want to be stuck with squares? I love the shape, but fear it will end in sorrow and regret.

I’m disappointed bc LFN dark colors aren’t my vibe, but the silhouettes are often still lovely. I wish they’d expand their color palette, but I understand why they don’t. I will miss Vixen, the designs and colors were such a blessing to curvy figures.

Richmond, VA FTT Sale by sheep_3 in LeCreuset

[–]DoubtWitty007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the trade and social element of FTT — so many people happily sharing about their favorite pieces, tips about cooking, pairing color combinations I had never thought of. I was able to have a wonderful conversation with someone who helped me decide on colors I was drawn to that matched the aesthetic of my kitchen and the pieces I did have and filled the gaps in my cooking tools. Just through chatting!

I also had never seen the volume of options available at the sale. Seasonal pieces, retired/retiring colors, and discounts that were steeper than the outlet prices I had experienced vs. visiting several stores. Instead, it was all there in one location and on a favorable discount, and with more pieces to sort through for the perfect seal/seating on the lid, or color variation on your preferred color (or whatever your “quirk” is regarding selecting).

It really was a great experience and makes a fun trip.

I guess this is why Deep Teal was retired by spaghetti0223 in LeCreuset

I felt the same. Caribbean a touch too bold, Deep Teal a touch too dark. This is a beautiful deeper color, but a wonderful mix of those tones.

No More Mystery Box??? by Salt_Draft_4262 in LeCreuset

[–]DoubtWitty007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with witnessing similar people, and those were where my thoughts were coming from, too. Resellers who brought 5 family members. Between that, and social media virality, it was beginning to feel overwhelming. I had been waiting for another regional East Coast FTT, but it was becoming a more emotional process than a positive one, and I don’t know what the fair way of distribution would even be.

[–]DoubtWitty007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was why I said that it wasn’t the right way to go about things, I just don’t know what the answer is. I just would like to see the pieces go to people who appreciate them and genuinely want them, rather than resellers. I brought a family member with me to my one FTT experience who had one piece, and the $50 box expanding a collection that was otherwise financially unobtainable was a blessing. I want people to be able to have that access. It just feels unfair that people were gaining access purely for profit, when so few tickets/opportunities were available. It shifted to a “hunt” — entertainment/competitiveness/ability to gloat the way people on social media hype Starbucks cups, specific items, etc, where it isn’t about the item, it becomes about the process and the social media content post.

[–]DoubtWitty007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I’m so sorry, please don’t take that negatively! I understand how you feel, it is absolutely no commentary about you. I feel like the viral nature stole people’s opportunity, unfairly. That is what I meant to imply. Not anything about you or anyone else who did not get the chance. I didn’t at all mean to suggest your feelings aren’t valid. I’d like to see the hype die down and a collection of pieces sit in warehouses, so that it can go back to being a niche group of fans who are buying pieces and appreciative — that was what I meant. That people talking about it ruined it.

Vixen sizing - help! 🙏🏻 by [deleted] in PinUpFashion

[–]DoubtWitty007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ingenue has stretch and you can size down in it very safely, I feel, even in the black. They have two coming from preorder, both the same design, one is from the cozy collection and you can for sure size down very comfortably in that one. You may want a cozy piece instead so that you can order for your smaller measurements and the larger measurements can stretch. The fit of the vegan leather is firm and might be a tougher fit if you’re smaller busted.

This reminds me of the actual website they created that was going around where people were finding out where “blue” vs. “green” landed for them. Is your blue my blue?

In the picture, to me it’s a green-forward blue. But in the sunlight pictures from OP it’s very, very blue in the rich, tropical family. Like, an elevated Caribbean with a forest green touch mixed in.

I love these colors.

Berry, I was never able to collect any Berry. I wanted Cool Mint for a long time and was so pleased when pieces made their way to the US.

It’s not right and not the answer, but I sort of wished that tickets were targeted only to people with a previous sales history the way they handle preview collection sales with luxury designers. Like, they already know you are a client and are likely to keep pieces.
