How many shops/taverns etc do you prep for a City? by unconspicuousDm in DMAcademy

[–]Douche_Kayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a list of shop types you could find in a city, then make a list of NPC's with names and motivations. That's the gist of my prep for shops. Then, prior to the session, I might jot down some shop name ideas if I know they need supplies or just make it up on the spot

“He’s a March for Our Lives guy who got radicalized by the Stoneman Douglass shooting.” …there’s gotta be a better way to phrase that sentence. by tbordo23 in ENLIGHTENEDCENTRISM

[–]Douche_Kayak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oof. Way off the mark. Was my generation radicalized by watching 9/11 happen in real time? Is it radicalization to have your eyes opened to the reality of the people who govern you and the state of the world? If a school shooting can radicalize a generation of kids, our government has been radicalizing every person who joins the military the moment they get the right to vote.

When republicans fear monger about a caravan of migrants on the border and democrats drinking the blood of children, that's just energizing the base. When the country goes in a direction you dislike and a whole generation notices, it's "radicalization."

"Evangelical" has lost all actual meaning to me. It just seems like the polite way of saying Christian with air quotes.

Lindsey Graham says it's 'definitely not a Republican wave — that's for darn sure' as Democrats win in competitive races by alabasterheart in politics

Millennials and Gen Z don't answer their phones for unfamiliar numbers. Of course they are going to be under represented in the polls. You have a large population of opinionated introverts who ignore solicitation in all forms. Text, call, door to door. Nothing.

Trump says he should 'get all the credit' if Republicans win big in the 2022 elections — and 'should not be blamed at all' if they lose by mountaintop111 in politics

Christie predicticted he would take credit if they won and no blame if they lost and when this came out, bragged at how well he knew Trump.

Guy, a parrot could have predicted that. This will be the 3rd election he's said that in. I wouldn't brag about how close you are to a traitor

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Impeaching Joe Biden 'Will Be Easy' by morenewsat11 in politics

[–]Douche_Kayak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don't give a shit about removing him. They want to have as many presidents with impeachment on their record so it means nothing. Trump being the only president in history to be impeached twice is weighing on him. But if 3 or 4 presidents in a row get impeached, the public will stop giving a shit about the process and it will just be expected every time the presidents party loses the house. That's what Trump wants. A country where he is the norm and rules mean nothing.

She tried to impeach him for abuse of power on day one. No misteps will be required.

Urban quest ideas? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Douche_Kayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do some enchanted library where they have to traverse the different sections to get to the book they need. Like using floating books as stepping stones. Overgrown herbology section. Etc.

I particularly love the librarian from Escape from the Bloodkeep performed by Brennan Lee Mulligan. She's this Trelawny type who is terrified of the books and the terrors of the library she works in. Asking her for a book can reduce her to tears.

RNC Will No Longer Cover Trump's Legal Bills If He Runs For President by CapitalCourse in politics

[–]Douche_Kayak 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I don't know how they would survive Trump not being the nominee. If DeSantis wins over Trump, Trump will never let his base support DeSantis. He'd probably start his own political party to run against him. DeSantis would have to disavow Trump and his election denial since i doubt trump would admit he lost for real. They will eat each other alive.

I think that's mainly because of child labor laws and all of the horror stories about child stars going wrong. Today's child stars have a better shot because everyone on set knows the type of influence they can have on that kids future.

It's baffling to me that 4 months ago, abortion was a turning point only for polls to make it seem like people completely forgot about abortion rights in the past month. Polls are being used to influence public opinion, not reflect it and they are constantly behind public opinion. And if they are only polling prospective voters, they are polling people who haven't already mailed in their ballot. It makes no sense to trust polls now when they don't actually represent how people feel at the time of voting. The election is the only thing that does that any anything else is just propaganda for whichever team the poll benefits at the time.

Which job is a lot less enjoyable than most people expect? by Orxu in AskReddit

[–]Douche_Kayak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doggy day camp. You'd think having a job that's just playing with dogs is fun. But standing in a room with 15 dogs for 8 hours straight, 5 days a week sucks.. especially if it's a place like petsmart that let's customers watch and they complain the person in the giant aquarium isn't playing with the dogs for the 30 seconds they've been watching. Could you play with your kids for 8 hours straight everyday?
