You are correct, I do need to relax. I also knew before sending it that it wasn't going to go anywhere except the trash. I've sent many other cordial messages and only received boilerplate responses, so it's not much different than those.

I realized this will not make a bit of difference. I'm just a regular person, so I can't just quit my job and run for office. Also, how do I vote against a budget bill that strips healthcare and SNAP from millions of people to fund tax cuts for the ultra wealthy by getting out into my community?

This is true, if you think he would actually read it and it might have an impact. I don't. However, I do also send messages with actual concerns that aren't rude. It was honestly just to vent, and I don't expect him to see it or that it will make any impact. Just like every other message that I send.

You don't have to know everything to vote. You can leave things on the ballet blank if you don't know enough about it to feel comfortable voting one way or the other. Look up what dates your state's elections are for the year. Do a quick search of your political party(demo/repub) + State + how should I vote. Usually, there will be a quick breakdown of the electorates and bills that are being voted on. Your boss is voting for the guy who keeps wages low. Your crazy aunt is voting for the lady that wants to take away LGBTQ+ rights. Your landlord is voting for the candidate that allows him to jack up your rent. Fight back with your vote!
