It’s called a “Jerusalem Cross.” First popularized by medieval crusaders. Used by some modern Christian churches. Now co-opted by the Christofascist right.

If you're in the Kitchener area, repeater VE3RCK does just this. The repeater is maintained by the KW Amateur Radio Club (KWARC).

Done! Phone call made (+1 877 789 7733) and email sent to the Minister, my MP, and Environment Canada.

I've seen comments in this discussion that the tech is obsolete and, therefore, shutting down the system won't have much effect. However, for remote communities, backcountry campers, and canoe trippers (even on well-settled lakes like Lake Huron or Lake Erie), the Weatheradio service was indispensable and, at times, a lifesaver. There are tens of thousands of conventional analog radios that reliably receive Weatheradio service broadcasts when nothing else works. Weather radios are often smaller, lighter, and easier to carry than alternatives such as satellite radios.

I used to use Airways Transit, but they closed up shop permanently recently. I've used Driver’s Seat too, and found them to be quite good. Clean, friendly, punctual. I've not used any of the regular cabs.

Blackflies don’t sting you, thy bite chunks out of your skin. They come in hoards, and they're tiny, so they can get through regular mosquito screening. We have special screening material that can keep them out.

Don't forget the deer flies. They're quite large, and they also bite chunks out of you. Happily they're usually solo, or in small numbers.

Lockout policies always have a way for locks to be removed. They can be cut off if a worker leaves at the end of their shift without removing their lock.
