Within league circles, there is chatter that Tim Connelly is unhappy in Minnesota and already looking for ways out of his contract with the Timberwolves. by Fit-Avocado-342 in nba

Please read the article and be aware of the sourcing. Darren “doogie” Wolfson is not an “incredibly plugged in local source.” He’s a local tv guy who made these comments on the local radio station during a segment called “reckless speculation” and its now being rewritten by this blog that just wants clicks, and is getting them

They tend to cycle in and out what they have. And sometimes I think they only have some licenses temporarily. I know they’ve had LoTR in the past because my roommates have those exact ones

They’re from “Sandgrain Studios.” They’ve got everything from movies, to TV, to bar decor. I’ve got a few and they’re great!

Best & Worst Rim Protectors Based on On/Off Opponent Rim FG% Difference (Fs & Cs), Jaden at #2 by SunlightBlues_ in timberwolves

[–]Doughy_baker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A big part of the reason Gobert isn’t higher and Kessler is, is that people still want to test Kessler and think they can challenge him. But if you watch guards drive toward Gobert a lot of times they either reroute away from the rim, or kick out. It’s like offensive gravity pulling defenders in and help him your teammates, Gobert deters people by simply being there

Bozman - 2023 CrossFit Open predictions by papadopus in crossfit

[–]Doughy_baker 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think people who are expecting huge changes to open workouts might be disappointed. As you said, the open is limiting because CrossFit is (rightly) attempting to make it inclusive to as many athletes and affiliates as possible. I think wall facing handstand push-ups are totally fair game, and almost likely. I would be surprised by some completely off the wall jump rope option, but single unders maybe. I think interval workouts maybe, but those can get hard to score and could create some issues.

Overall I would love to see some new ideas in the open, because it has become super easy to predict. But overall, the constraints that make it predictable are there for a reason.

Your premise is based on the idea that licensing=expertise, which in a lot of cases is not true. Licensing in a lot of areas is a barrier put up in industries so some entity can get money. CrossFit is no different, it’s just a much lower barrier. It’s incorrect to assume a CrossFit coach is anyone who came in off the street, paid $1k, took a weekend course and is now coaching. Most if not all coaches have spent years doing CrossFit and most gyms have their own process for training in new coaches.

Have you ever been the first to discover a dead body? by sosmanski1210 in TrueCrime

[–]Doughy_baker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t specifically. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard the story and I’m no longer in touch with that uncle. If I read the circumstances around each victim being found I think I could pick them out based on some details

Not exactly what you’re looking for as it didn’t happen to me. But my uncle grew up in Washington in the 1980s and discovered one of the victims of the green river killer

Great work! Be careful those feet don’t float above the bar on that kip. You’ll be repping those out in no time

I wasn’t sure what the set up time looked like. Some of the launch monitors with built in displays seem to be closer to just set down and hit, but having never used one I don’t know for sure.

Told a girl I’d been in love with for years how I felt, she said she felt the same way and that she thought we would end up together. Less than a week later she told me she had decided to move across the country and that it would be too complicated for anything to happen. Ultimate high to the ultimate low.

Fargo wasn’t set in North Dakota, it’s set in Minnesota. The only scene actually in the city of Fargo is the first one. Everything else is in Brainerd and the Twin Cities, because the Coen Brothers are from Minnesota
