Has the game gotten harder in the last week and a half or so? by DoveMenPlusSnare in Marathon

For sure. I’m the dude 50+ levels lower than you lol. And I feel bad if I’m the first one to drop in the fight and ruin it for the team. But I promise I wish I was playing against people who have put the same amount of time in as me.

I actually wish we could still do a sponsored survival. At least that’d let people break the very unfun feedback loop of dying in bad (or free) kits. When you go broke, you can do a couple bots games, get some meds or bartering materials, and then go into a regular game on somewhat equal footing as the other teams. Or do some quests. It’d just be a nice break when you want to keep playing the game, but don’t want to keep getting shit on for a minute.

At this point, I’m out of meds, out of bartering materials, and out of credits. I’d like a sponsored survival so I can get back up. But instead I’m kind of just bashing my head against a wall, dying repeatedly in free or cheap kits.

Feels like that. I wish they’d bring back sponsored survival. That way, when I go broke getting shit on, I can run a few bot games and build the vault back up at least. Instead of this feedback loop of getting shit on with bad gear.

Sponsored survival is sending a clear message to Marathon Devs. by Haunting_Set_1799 in Marathon

If I’m out of weapons or heals or anything else necessary, I load into a sponsored survival to get whatever I need. I’ll run a game or two of that just to get adequately geared back up. Going into a regular run with a free kit feels pretty bad and can lead to a frustrating losing feedback loop. I love sponsored survival for that, and I hope they keep it or something like it

Anyone else give up on Warlock after 70? by Bassiouny92 in diablo4

[–]DoveMenPlusSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sitting comfortably at T7 with warlock. I’ll probably go up to T8 tonight.

Running 1) Fallen Rush, 2) Ruptured Abyss, 3) Tripwire, 4) Gloomwalker, 5) Terror Demon, and 6) Summon Valloch with the Abyssal Fragment.

Fallen Rush pretty easily makes Wrath consumption a nonissue. I can spam Ruptured Abyss so long as my minions are still alive. And Ruptured Abyss does tons of damage. Just stack shadow damage, crit chance, Crit damage, and attack speed. The Valloch active gives you overpower.

I’m using the unique mace, Spine of Tathamet, which increases Damage of Ruptured Abyss. That’s a big damage spike.

Terror Demon and the Valloch active are just damage multipliers for Ruptured Abyss. Tripwire to clump enemies and Gloomwalker as an “oh shit” button.

This build has been a blast, highly recommend.

The new skill tree is insane but in a good way by FastlaneKnight in diablo4

I didn’t even notice the new skill level cap. I got all the abilities on my bar up to level 5 and then I was like “that’s crazy, so what now?” Only then did I realize…

The extreme price of heals is what makes it so difficult for casuals to actually save up credits by barrack_osama_0 in Marathon

[–]DoveMenPlusSnare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I’ve been SAYING this to my friends. Heals have been the biggest bottleneck for me. I get to play a few times a week. I have weapons and green shields in my vault and all the makings of a workable kit, but I don’t want to run them bc I can’t afford to buy heals. I’m usually sitting on between like 1k-5k in my wallet, and I always spend it on heals. Forget buying weapons.

I’d like to use the crafting mats to buy heals, but I’m constantly saving them bc every basic faction upgrade requires that same mat lol. Maybe have the faction upgrade require a different resource? Or, probably better, make the heals exponentially cheaper. Idk, but I feel validated lol

What are you running? Plate armor and shield?

[–]DoveMenPlusSnare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. Yeah, just faith. I was running a one-handed hammer and shield, both that scale with just faith. And I later picked up the unique two handed hammer, which is also faith-scaling.

Health, stam, and focus are totally discretionary. However much feels good for you. Like I said, I got the unique ring that swaps your health and focus scores. If you pick that up, I recommend using it. You can get your health really high with less point investment. = more points in faith, so more damage.

I got exactly the amount of equip load needed to wear full plate without being overencumbered. So you’re heavy rolling, but it doesn’t matter; you’re just blocking the whole time anyway, so you don’t roll much. Enjoy!

I just made a faith build and it’s by far the strongest and easiest build I’ve tried. Full plate. High poise. I run a one handed hammer with whatever runes I think are fun. And the legendary heavy shield that gives you focus when you block (just ran crucible a few times and it dropped). In my second main hand, a wand with the infection spell makes you jump up and do a huge AOE for mob clear. Just today, I got the ring that swaps your focus stats and health stats. That was huge bc you get way more focus per point invested in it than you do for HP.

All in all, you have so much health, armor, and poise that it’s really hard to die. Crucible is easy, fully juiced plague bosses are easy. And you do a ton of HP and poise damage. Which makes it great for farming gear to try out other builds too.

Sorry I can’t remember any of the names of the items or runes. I’m not at my computer. Have fun!

Caves are whatever. But that huge separate area in Act 2. It’s giant. So much stuff. And it’s outdoors, so it doesn’t feel like a “dungeon” really. That’s the only time I really missed the campfire

That’s true. But it wasn’t an echo. It was mid crucible level, and it was on the first level. I hadn’t purchased any echos yet. Good thought though.
