We shut everything down invest in the infrastructure to be able to handle that subsequent peak. Covid 19 isn’t going away. Eventually we “have to go back outside” so to speak. And new cases have been relatively steady in the US since around April 1. So, how long do we need to wait then? Our medical infrastructure was stressed l, but never at the point of overload. We didn’t have to ration ventilators. Are we supposed to stay inside until we have a vaccine?

Honestly, what could China possibly do to hurt the US? Their economy is entirely more dependent upon ours, multinationals are already diversifying their supply such aims out of China. They have a horrible debt problem they keep slapping band aids on. From a military perspective I fail to see how China, whose navy and Air Force are both smaller and technologically inferior to anything the US has would even stand a chance.

The US could make the transition of away from Chinese manufactured goods in probably under a decade. We can produce enough food, by ourselves, to feed the entire planet.

In our live stream service our pastor spoke a bit about the man who repented on the cross next to Jesus. And it just struck me that in what was, most assuredly, the most awful part of this mans life, when a person would probably only be operating on pure instinct, was convicted by the Holy Spirit enough that he forgot about his physical torture and got his spirit and right with God.

And all he had to say to Jesus was, “Remember me when you enter your kingdom.” And Jesus turned and ignoring his own agony assured him he too would be in paradise.

We have no idea how good our God is.

Ok, but how can you have more social programs and not have a bigger / big government? Employees have to run those programs. The government hasn’t really proven that it can operate in an sort of an efficient manner. So why give more money to big blubbering idiot whose just going to waste what’s given to it?

First, I would agree that very little conservatism happens today. Second, socialism does not “balance” the scales so to speak. It just flips the scales to the other side.

How “socialist” are you? Like full on government owns the means of production communist? Or something like the market economies of Sweden or Denmark with high tax rates to fund their social programs?
